Doug Stanhope Tickets for Sale

In 1990, Doug's career began in Las Vegas when he hosted Comedy Central's "The Man Show" with Joe Rogan. Besides, he also hosted a "Girls Gone Wild" video. Not for the faint-hearted, the theme for Doug's stand-up routine ranges from volatile social critiques to visual perversion. However much he likes to shock, there is always a point behind it about where our times are headed and is never vulgar for vulgar's sake. Not exactly a political comic Doug's understandings and interpretations of things are valid. Stanhope fearlessly treads in the steps of Lenny Bruce and Bill Hicks in crippling the stagnant American mindset. In his website, Doug says he does television shows only for the money.

Appearances in "The Howard Stern show", "Premium Blend", BBC's "Floor Show Live", "Comedy Central Presents", NBC's "Late Friday" and "Spy TV" have made him popular. Apparently, Doug was on ecstasy when he was producing and writing a show for Fox network. The show being "Invasion of the Hidden Cameras", in which he also starred. Besides, he has even made cameos on "The Jerry Springer show" and "Fox News with Greta Van Susteren". Star of many comedy festivals, Doug has appeared in "US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen", "Montreal's Just for Laughs", "The Chicago Comedy Festival" and most memorably the "Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland" in 2002 where he received the Strathmore Press award.

With a wholly original and brutally honest take on situations, Doug makes every other stand-up comic look bland and unambitious. Doug has released many comedy CDs: "The Great White Stanhope", "Sicko", "Die Laughing", "Word of mouth", "Something to take the edge off", "Deadbeat Hero", and "Morbid Obscenity, The Unbookables". In 2007, Doug taped two specials for Television. In New York 's Gotham comedy club, Doug recorded "Showtime" meant solely for US Television. For his UK viewers, he recorded "Comedy Lab" for Channel 4, which was filmed at Caves in Edinburgh. Of late Doug is busy with "The Unbookables" which is a comic tour that features Norman Wilkerson, Brett Erickson, Sean Rouse, Andy Andrist, Travis Lipski and Brendon Walsh. In 2006, The Unbookables' first CD, "Morbid Obscenity" was released on Stand Up! Records. The comic line-up includes Mr. Arthur Hinty, Andy Andrist, Banjo Randy, Sean Rouse and Lynn Shawcroft.
