Performing on Rodney Dangerfield's "Nothing Goes Right" comedy specials for HBO gave Irrera his first break. Eventually, he got his own show on HBO "One Night Stand" for which he won his first CableACE award for Best Stand-Up Comedy Special in 1998. Irrera won a second CableACE in 1995 for hosting the "Full Frontal Comedy" series. Since performing for Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show back in 1986, his humor has led to several performances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", "The Late Show with David Letterman", "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The View. Besides appearing several times on "Oprah" and numerous other cameo appearances on primetime comedies such as Home Improvement, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, Becker, The King of Queens, and The Drew Carey Show.
