Disco Biscuits
Whenever one hears Philadelphia, the first thing strikes their mind is The Disco Biscuits. The Disco Biscuits is the rock band hailed from Philadelphia. Initially the band was comprised of Jon Gutwillig (guitar), Marc Brownstein, (bass), Allen Aucoin (drums), Aron Magner (keyboards). But on 27th August 2005, drummer Sam Altman left the band. But in 1995, he was with original keyboardist Ben Hayflick. Talking about their music style and they are unique and completely differ from other jam bands like Phish or the Grateful Dead. The main difference lies in the fact that they infuse electronic beats and jams into their music. Earlier this style was blindly referred as trance-fusion, but is called "bisco" when referring specifically to the Disco Biscuits. Apart from that this band is also well-known for their ability to run long sets together. Many times they have played their songs backwards, in styles referred to as "inverted" and "dyslexic" and "biscuitisk."
This inverted style was version of a song occurs when the band starts a song by playing its ending segment, followed immediately by its beginning segment and a jam that segues out of that song and into another. Due this inverted and unique style songs begin on one night's show and end the next night. That's why people and their fans tend to book tickets well in advance so that they don't miss this golden opportunity. This was at times termed as a boon and sometime as a curse as sometime fans found their songs too engrossing and sometimes too monotonous. But this sudden shift at times confuses people who are not already familiar with their catalog. Also it forces the listener to be immediately willing to immerse themselves in the Disco Biscuits' large catalog, which can prove to be a rather overwhelming task for novices to undertake.
