Dio Tickets for Sale

Formed after the last name of vocalist Ronnie James Dio, Dio is the heavy metal band formed in October 1982. He formed this band after parting away with Black Sabbath. Known for his powerful voice, Ronnie James Dio is also regarded as one of Heavy metal's most respected vocalists. Once in his promotional interview he commented that "he never intended to begin a solo career but want to form a new band, with his fellow friend Vinny Appice. Very few know that Dio was not the name thought for the band but accidentally they have to settle for this. Initially, the band members were Ronnie on vocals and Keyboards, Vinny Appice on Drums, Vivian Campbell on guitar; and Jimmy Bain on bass. After their formation they released their debut album "Holy Diver" in which Ronnie not only sang and also played keyboards. But somehow they were missing the vocalist; this is when the band recruited keyboardist Claude Schnell.

After the release they went onto tour and mind you the concert was complete sold out, as tickets were booked well in advance. During the tour they recorded various songs which were used in the album Sacred Heart. After the tour, the band released their second album on 2nd July 1984 which was again a complete success and soon this success was carried forward in their third album Sacred Heart released on August 15, 1985. Apart from that, Ronnie also wrote the song "Stars" for the Hear 'n Aid project. But their success was cut short when in 1986 Vivian Campbell left the band to join Whitesnake. Soon he was replaced by Craig Goldy. Now with the new member, they released their fourth album Dream Evil on 21st July 1987. This album also marked the introduction of year old guitarist Rowan Robertson. After his joining the band released their new album Lock up the Wolves.

After this release Ronnie reunited with his former bandmates in Black Sabbath but this re-acquaintance was short lived. Again Ronnie was with band but at that time there was a new member, guitarist Tracy G. Then this newly re-incarnated band released back to back albums titled Strange Highways, Angry Machines and Inferno - Last in Live. In 2000 Goldy re-joined the band and they released their eighth studio album, Magica. But soon he left the band and again joined in summers of 2003. And on 7th September 2004, in America through Sanctuary Records, Dio released their tenth studio album, Master of the Moon and in Europe through SPV Records on August 30, 2004.
