A couple of key transfers offer a lot of hope for the backcourt. 6'-4' guard Chuck Bailey transfers from Michigan while 6'-0' G Brandon Cotton comes aboard from Michigan State. Cotton is a former McDonald's All American and will have to sit out the first semester.

Detroit had a 67-56 loss at Duke last season. In fact, Detroit led 28-26 at the half! They held Duke to 35% shooting while Detroit shot 47%, but 21 turnovers hurt them. With the new faces this season, they may have a better second half of the season than first.

The Detroit Titans (19-7 SU) are off a fine season, but have only one starter back. Fortunately, the lone returning starter is 6'-9' junior center Ryan Coville (9 ppg, 5 rpg). He'll get a chance to step up with more shots this season as the team leader.

Former Syracuse guard 5'-10' senior James Thues is a good ballhandler and defender, and saw time last season along with 6'-5' senior G Ben Green. Detroit was 13-3 SU/4-8 ATS at home and 6-8 SU, 7-6 ATS on the road. They also play great defense, allowing 41% shooting by opponents and 59.6 points per game.
