Dennis Miller is a very popular and creative American comedian, and also a political and social commentator. All in all he is a well known television personality. Dennis was born on November 3, 1953 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Pittsburgh, and went on to graduate in the year 1971 from Keystone Oaks high school. Then he majored in journalism at the famous Point Park University for the reason that he thought it would be quite easy. He was also a member of the well known Sigma Tau Gamma. Before building upon a career in the entertainment world, he has worked as a gatekeeper and an ice cream scooper.

His television career began in the early 1980s when he hosted The Trolley Show. The show was a Saturday after noon news magazine for the teenagers, and was featured on the Pittsburgh's KDKA-TV. Miller also went on to produce entertaining essays for the syndicated PM Magazine television program. After that he began performing stand up acts in some well known New York comedy clubs, the comic strip and catch A Rising Star to name a few. He also performed at Los Angeles at The Comedy Store. He participated in the famous TV series Star Search, where he eventually lost to fellow comedian Sinbad.

Miller's big break came in the year 1985 when he was found out by Lorne Michaels at The Comedy Store. Michaels ensured that Miller landed a spot in the Saturday Night Live. There he succeeded Christopher Guest to be the "Weekend Update" anchor. Here many people became fans of his peculiar style. He was smirky, had a high pitched giggle, and was goofy. However he left the show in the year 1991 and it was taken over by Kevin Nealon.

It was in the year 1990 that Dennis released a CD of his standup comedy acts, it was named The Off White Album, the name drew a lot from the metaphor driven and observational style he was well known for on his hit feature Saturday Night Live. The CD also had some glimpses of the politics based humor that he was to later use in his work. Shortly after the release of the CD miller featured in a well received HBO special, named "Dennis Miller: Black & White".

Miller after leaving the Saturday Night Live in 1992 went on to launch an exclusive late night talk show syndicated by the Tribune Entertainment, called "The Dennis Miller Show". This was later turned into another show called the "Dennis Miller live". This was the turning point in his career. He became one of the most well known persons on the boob tube.
