Demetri Martin is a well known comedian from America. He was born on May 25, 1973. Graduated from Yale University, martin dropped his idea of joining the New York University School of Law for the sake of his interest in comedy. He followed his interest and started his career in comedy. He won the Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for his comedy show "If I....". He wrote "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" from 2003 to 2004.
Martin has been featured on "Premium Blend". He conducted his own special on Comedy Central. Divided into three parts, his special earned a huge popularity for him. Martin performed in well famed traditional stand-up comedy fashion in the first part. He was acclaimed well for using terrific drawings as visual aid serving either as the punchline or a background, in his second part of the special. In his third part, he used to play guitar while presenting a play side wise where he would strum his guitar while talking. While he narrates the story, a cast of his friends come to play the roles of fairies and dragons. They act like the creatures of the magical land from which martin's jokes and humor has come. Martin performed his wonderful stand-up at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in a show called "These Are Jokes" in 2005. The same year he appeared at the intimate comedy showcase "Invite Them Up" and which later released its best of CD and DVD collection. Martin again appeared at the Fringe with his outstanding performance in 2006 with his show "Dr Earnest Parrot Presents Demetri Martin". In this show, he was diagnosed by the eponymous Dr Earnest Parrot, PhD, PhD, PhD, MD, and PhD. Martin became a psycho suffered from a rare disorder PHEALS.
On Oct 2001, Martin hosted the "Across the Narrows" music festival in Coney Island. This festival was starring Rilo Kiley, Built to Spill, Gang of Four, Nine Black Alps, Mando Diao, Death From Above 1979 and Pixies. One of his recorded comedy CD/DVD "These are Jokes" was released on September 26, 2006. Will Forte who is a friend of Martin and Saturday Night Live member, has appeared on one of the track "Personal Information Waltz" in the album. Additionally, Martin performed amazingly at the 2006 Melbourne International Comedy Festival which earned him the festival's top prize, the Barry Award. Recently, he is news because of selling his movie concept called "Will" to Dreamworks in which he will be playing the second lead instead of lead role.
