Wilcox entered the music industry with his first big-time band, David Wilcox and the Teddy Bears, in the 1970s. He showcased himself as a flashy character with an over sized waxed mustache, a baggy suit and a flower in his lapel. As her matured he shed that style and in the 1980's hit his groove. He became not only an amazing guitarist and but a over the top showman. He was such a craze that wherever he played he left the place full of exhausted, happy club goers who'd danced, drank, clapped, stomped and shouted their way to a hell-of-a-time.

Wilcox became very popular in the college circuit and played more than 300 dates a year. He won numerous awards including the COCA (the Canadian Organization of Campus Activities) for Entertainer Of The Year (1985) and Contemporary Music Recording Attraction (1987). He was later honored with membership in their Hall Of Fame. During his early years, Wilcox led a crazy and opulent lifestyle. His first three albums were a reflection of his attitude and thought process. He released Out Of The Woods in 1980, My Eyes Keep Me In Trouble in 1983 and Bad Reputation in 1984. His songs reflected his experiences about sex, drugs and rock and roll.

As he matured, his music became more refined and passionate. His albums from these years showed the difference in style and texture of his songs.. He released Breakfast At The Circus in 1987 and The Natural Edge in 1989. Wilcox returned to his acoustic roots in 1996 with the production of "Thirteen Songs." The album covered every genre from lounge-bar, sax-and-organ jazz, modal folk, from contry-twang storytelling to nasty blues. After a fifteen month writing spree, David hit the tour route in 2005 with "Going Deeper and Higher." He is playing and singing the best music of his career. Don't miss this maestro in action.
