However he gained most of his fame on the hugely popular American late-night comedy series titled Saturday Night Live, where incidentally he was also a writer and the prominent cast member for all through its first four seasons starting from the year 1975 to the year 1979. Aykroyd was successful in bringing a unique sensibility which brought delightful newness to the show. Superbly combining elements of youth, unusual interests, remarkable talent as an avid impersonator; he reached great heights. His almost lunatic intensity was the hallmark of the show.
