Background - Nc Wilmington Seahawks
Four returning starters helps a lot. The backcourt has experience with 6'-3' junior guard John Goldsberry (8.5 ppg) and 6'-2' senior Ed Spencer (8.7 ppg). Yes, those two led the Seahawks in scoring last season, which shows how much focus they place on defense. This is also a team-oriented group that isn't interested in stats, just winning.

 You may recall that Goldsberry set a CAA freshman mark for assists with 105 and boasted a CAA-best 2.8-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio two years ago. He also put on a shooting display in the loss to Maryland, making an NCAA record 8-of-8 from long distance.
They lost their leading rebounder, but still have 6'-6' senior Halston Lane (a transfer from Georgia Tech) and 6'-7' junior Mitch Laue. Lane is off an injury-plagued campaign and needs to be fully recovered from a bad Achilles. Junior 6'-7' Taylor Lay and 6'-11', 245-lb senior Aaron Combs round out a large frontcourt. NC Wilmington was 10-3 SU/4-7 ATS at home, but 5-12 SU/6-9 ATS on the road. The 'D' allowed 54 ppg at home, but 63 ppg on the road. The experience and tough 'D' is why, at the very least, they should top the .500 mark.
