Background - Arizona State Sun Devils
At this point Steve Moore (13 ppg) provides the most support. HC Rob Evans has recruited a couple of outside shooting juco's, 6'2 Tyrone Jackson 6'-7 and Bryson Kruger to take the pressure off the big guy. F/C Serge Angounou was expected to start in the frontcourt a year ago and the same expectation exist for this year as well. Angounou has had a knee injury, plagued career.

 The backcourt, meanwhile, is led by Moore, 6'-2' junior point guard Jason Braxton (7 ppg, 5 apg), who must improve his shooting to be effective and 6'2 Tron Smith. It doesn't appear that the Sun Devils have much in the way of depth after Diogu, and that could spell trouble. Coach Rob Evans never got the pieces to fit last season. Scoring guard Steve Moore began the year hot, then struggled late. Point guard Kevin Kruger was terrific late, but a non-entity in the first two-thirds of the season. Forward Serge Angounou spent half the season trying to get comfortable a year after knee surgery. ASU must solve its chemistry issues and find a sound rotation.
Arizona State was just 8-8 SU in home games a year ago and 2-12 ATS, 4-1 OVER, and even worse on the road. They have some work to go but if they can figure out their rotations they could make something of a move as the season progresses.
