Coldplay
Coldplay may be a big name now, but there was a time when tickets were much easier to find. That was back in 1997 when Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland were they only two members of the group, then called Pectoralz. The group continued to grown while the members were college students at University College London. In 1998 they added Guy Berryman and in 1998 they added the band's drummer, Will Champion and adopted the name Coldplay.
Coldplay graduated from college in 1999 and found that despite having a five record deal with Parlophone, they had released three EPs (Safety in 1998, Brothers & Sisters in 199, and The Blue Room in 1999) without an established hit. The group was far from a position to headline a tour of any kind and they were on the Carling Tour while they recorded their debut album. The album would immediately transcend Coldplay from festival concert status a headlining act that could tickets alone.
Parachutes was released in July 2000 and Coldplay found a more than willing audience with "Yellow" and Trouble". Europe fully embraced the melodic rock and the next step toward stardom was to cross the Atlantic and introduce American audiences to their music. A US club tour in 2001 and appearances on popular light night television programs like Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and the Late Show with David Letterman spread Coldplay's name. Audiences didn't flock to buy tickets or albums like they did in England, but the album did slowly end up being a double platinum album and winning the 2002 Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album.
Coldplay quickly returned to the studio to capitalize on the global success of their debut album after a long touring schedule in 2001. They returned with A Rush of Blood to the Head in August 2002 and again dominated the radio with singles like "In My Place", "Clocks", and "The Scientist". The album won the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album in 2003 and Coldplay embarked on another world tour. Tickets were almost impossible to find as fans were excited to her a band Rolling Stone called the best of the year in 2003.

 In 2004, after hitting all five continents Coldplay rested. They used their down time to plan their third album. X&Y was released in June 2005 and although it was nota huge success in critics' eyes, it became Coldplay's best selling album to date. "Speed of Sound", "Fix You", and "talk" spurred radios to play the songs constantly and for tickets to wait in great anticipation for the release of Coldplay tickets.
Coldplay's fourth album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends has been in the works since December 2007. The album appears to be heavily influenced by the Hispanic music the group heard while touring in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico in 2007. The album is due out June 17, 2008 and the touring started in June 2008 with Coldplay tickets released soon before.
The tour has spanned the globe as the new album became a number one hit and went multi-platinum in countries throughout the world. The album went on to win the Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group, and Best Rock Album Grammy Awards while the Viva la Vida Tour sold Coldplay tickets in the millions. The group is going to finish in the UK with two performances at Wembley Stadium in London. The group will perform with Jay-Z, Girls Aloud, and White Lies.
