His connections helped her get her foot in the door and begin working in the music industry. She worked early on recording backup vocals for techno mixes used in fashion shows. Soon she would be doing her part to promote not Colbie Caillat tickets, but other performers' tickets as an opening act.
Her mix of pop and soul attracted singers like Taylor Swift, Jason Mraz, and John Mayer. She began touring in 2007 at the age of 22 with Goo Goo Dolls and Lifehouse. Soon she was appearing on tracks with Jason Mraz. She was even featured on Taylor Swift's Grammy Award winning album Fearless.
