Cinderella is a well known glam metal band which got a heavy popularity in 1980s. The band was founded by vocalist Tom Keifer and bassist Eric Brittingham in Philadelphia in 1984. The original at the young stage of band included Tony Destra on drums and Michael Smerick on guitar. The band was was discovered by Jon Bon Jovi in 1985, at the Empire Rock Club in Pennsylvania. Smerick and Destra quited the band in 1985, to join Britny Fox. The new comers, guitarist Jeff LaBar and drummer Jim Drnec joined the band to replace them. This line up recorded the debut album album of the band. The album "Night Song" had the drums beat played by session drummer Jody Cortez. Just after the finishing of recording of the album, Drnec was left the band and replaced by Fred Coury. Coury joined the band a right time to record in the album's liner notes. "Night Songs" was released in August 1986 and proved to be a triple Platinum, selling 50,000 copies per week. While the band was on their promoting tour for the "Night Songs", it was exposed to a very large audience opening for Bon Jovi (on their tour for Slippery When Wet).
The band released its second album "Long Cold Winter" in 1988. This album was promoted by a big 254-show tour which lasted more than 14 months. Additionally the band also performed on the Moscow Music Peace Festival along side other glam metal heavyweights like Ozzy Osbourne, The Scorpions, Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi, and Skid Row. The awaited third album which was released in 1990 made the band more popular. Album "Heartbreak Station" featured most of its songs which were highly influenced by Keifer's love of the blues. During the promotional tour or this album, Fred Coury left the band. Fred joined "Arcade" with the former Ratt vocalist Stephen Pearcy. Unfortunately, the talented and skillful member, Keifer faced some serious problems with his voice after the tour and underwent several operations.

Cinderella released two albums, "Once Upon a..." and "Live at the Key Club" which brought them in limelight again. Nevertheless, By this time, their label "Soby" left them when they were recording their next album. The band went for a promotional tour again in 2000 and 2002. Presently, Eric Brittingham and Jeff LaBar are recording with "Naked Beggers", Brittingham's wife's band. Fred is working with many bands in the studio as well as film. Keifer is recording his own solo album. VH1 Classic Rock Never Stops 2005 summer tour was wonderfully headlined by Cinderella. One of the hit compilation " Rocked, Wired & Bluesed: The Greatest Hits" was released by Mercury Records in 2005 on CD and DVD.
Currently, The band is on a summer tour for 2006. It is touring along with fellow glam metal rockers "Poison" to celebrate the 20th anniversary of first album of both bands. "Night Songs" and "Look What The Cat Dragged In" were released in the same year, 1986. The tour featuring two great bands, is a grand success and has quickly become one of the most successful tours of 2006. The popularity of the tour can be imagined by the attendance which is about 20 thousand people per night.
