Chris Duarte Tickets for Sale

If you are looking for a dose of real Texas blues guitar- not just any kind of blues but real crunching, Lone-Star blues, then you need to get your tickets to see the incredible Chris Duarte perform live. Backed by the Chris Duarte Group that includes John Jordan on bass and Ed Miles on drums, Chris Duarte brings his signature playing style to the fore with a loud bang- this is what the next generation of blues guitar will sound like and its new god is Chris Duarte.

It has been said that there is nothing new under the sun when it comes to blues and this is almost true- until you listen to Duarte. Duarte takes blues guitar into a number of different levels, experimenting with styles like grunge, funk and jazz while still maintaining a bluesy feel. On the other end of the spectrum, Duarte has given a whole new dimension to the Texas style of blues guitar, romping and ripping it to shreds while breathing new life into it at the same time.

Duarte grew up in San Antonio Texas and was bitten by the music bug early on when he saw The Fiddler on the Roof. He wanted nothing more than to pick up an instrument, any instrument and play but that would not happen until he got his hands on his brother's old guitar some eight years later. Like a true guitar aficionado, Duarte started out by playing anything he could get his hands on and was soon playing everything from Black Sabbath and punk to The Beatles. It was decided- his instrument of choice would be the guitar and at the age of fourteen he got what he really wanted- an electric guitar.

From then on, Duarte spent most of his time perfecting his technique and learning new and innovative ways to play. Two years later, he moved to Austin to begin to make a musical career for himself and for a rising blues-guitar star, Austin was definitely the place to be. After exploring the jazz styles of Miles Davis, and Coltrane, Duarte discovered the magic of Stevie Ray Vaughn and never looked back. He worked hard at perfecting the blues technique, especially the rhythmic delivery that is unique to Texas blues- he also looked to the work of other great blues musicians like Denny Freeman and Jimmie Vaughn.

Duarte has been hailed by some as the savior of blues guitar and by others as a pioneer of blues guitar with a kick- in either case, all agree that he is one of the greatest guitarists in the world. The magazine Guitar Player ranked him the fourth best blues guitarist in the world, coming in behind legends like B.B.King, Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton.
