Cherry Poppin' Daddies is an American band formed out of several groups around the University of Oregon in Eugene. Steve Perry (Vocalist/guitarist) and Dan Schmid (bassist) formed Cherry Poppin' Daddies in 1989 with an assembly that gradually inducted guitarist Jason Moss, drummer Tim Donahue, Ian Early on alto and baritone, trumpeter Dana Heitma, Dustin Lanker as keyboard player and Sean Flannery on tenor saxophone. They believe their style to be a blend of swing, ska, and rock.

Artist Biography - Cherry Poppin Daddies

 The band released their first album, Ferociously Stoned, in 1990 with Sub Par Records and Rapid City Muscle Car followed it up four years later. Both were extensive hits and the band was extolled by the all and sundry. Cherry Poppin' are more widely known for their part in the swing revival of the late 1990s. The fascination with formerly neglected musical styles had further improved the band's prominence. Their third album Kids on the Street was selected for distribution by Caroline Records. The band compiled the most swing-oriented tracks for releasing multi-platinum Zoot Suit Riot in 1997. Soul Caddy was released in mid-2000. In 2006, a new album is in making that covers some new territory and some innovations for the Daddies, containing Latin, tropical and reggae sounds, and a few swing tracks as well.
