Charlie Souza And The New Tropics
Come get your tickets to see some legendary rock and roll the way it used to be played way back in the day- come get your tickets to see Charlie Souza and the New Tropics live in concert! This band play classic rock and roll the way it is supposed to be played- forget all that stuff about nu metal, electronica and trip hop. This here is the real deal, rock and roll, the grand daddy of any kind of mainstream music that came afterwards.
Charlie Souza and the New Tropics have been making music since the sixties and have an extensive fan following to prove their musical worth. Souza himself was born and raised in Florida and played music ever since he could remember. His very first band was the Tropics and these guys have stuck together and made music over these many years. Their journey would take them to Hollywood where they would meet musical legends like Tom Petty but they would ultimately return to Florida, back to the sand and surf.
Their most famous recent single is "Carry me back to Saint Petersburg" which is a song that Souza wrote in the aftermath of the earthquake of 1994. The shudder and bang of the earth beneath him made him long for the sand and surf that he had grown up with and it was what brought Souza and his boys back to home turf to make more music. Charlie Souza and the New Tropics, which consist of Michael Regar, Bill Peterson and Stephen Griggs appeared at the Ribfest 2003 Classic Rock Concert, which was a homecoming of sorts for the band and was met with much enthusiasm.
