Celine Dion
Celine Dion was born in Charlemagne, Quebec in 1968, one of 14 children of a very musically inclined family. Celine recorded her first demo at the mere age of 12 and it was not long before she had become a local star. In the early 1980s. Celine learned to speak English so that she could become well known in the U.S. By 1990 she had already been signed by Sony and released her first album, Unison.
For the next few years, Celines career started to skyrocket by doing movie theme songs for blockbusters such as the Disney film Beauty and the Beast and Sleepless in Seattle. She even toured with Michael Bolton during his prime. Celine's luck with movie soundtracks did not stop there with one of the biggest singles ever, My Heart Will Go On, the theme song from the highest grossing film in history, Titanic.

 Early in 2002, Celine Dion announced a 3-year, 600-show contract to appear in an entertainment show 5 nights a week called A New Day…, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV. She came up with the idea for the show after she saw O by Franco Dragone early on in her break from recording. She started in a 4000-seat arena designed for the show on March 25, 2003. The show, which was put together by Dragone, was a mixture of dance, music and visual effects. It featured Dion singing her greatest hits against an arrangement of dancers and special effects. Reviewers and audiences liked the show, even though there were complaints about the cost of tickets. Nevertheless, the show sold out almost every night since it opened.
The show was the 6th largest selling tour in the US in 2006. Due to the show's success, Dion's contract was extended into 2007. According to Dion, the show is about "pain, doubt, laughter, talent, beauty, music, friendship, songs." She said it's a show about people, trust, yes, no and maybe, ambition, tears, smiles and teamwork… but mostly, it's about passion. It was announced on January 5, 2007 that the show would end December 15. The Live in Las Vegas- A New Day… DVD was released December 10 in Europe and the next day in North America.
