Cavo is a hard rock group out of St. Louis that has been inching its way toward mainstream success. The group began in 2000 as a guitarist, bassist, and drummer were looking for a lead singer. Chris Hobbs, Ryan Kemp, and Chad La Roy were missing a lead singer and took the advice of a couple of friends from local rock band Modern Day Zero. The advice led to the audition for Casey Walker. With Walker on board, Cavo began its ascendancy. Soon Cavo tickets would be a local favorite.
Of course, before Cavo was known as Cavo the foursome was known as Hollow. It was only near the end of 2001, after the arrival of a second guitarist (Mike Tomas) that the group changed its name.
The first release as Cavo was A Space to Fill. The EP was produced by the very same friends that suggested they give Casey Walker a try. The singles Say Again and Unsung received regular rotation on the local radio stations. Cavo continued to tour the area, selling tickets in droves near St. Louis.

It was not until 2006 that the band recorded a full-length album. The Painful Art of Letting Go was a local hit, but failed to track nationally. Cavo continued to build a solid fan base that would purchase concert tickets by playing with Modern Day Zero.
The group's big break came three years later in 2009. Cavo, now with Chris Hobbs as the guitarist, Chad La Roy as the drummer, Brian Smith as the bassist, and Casey Walker as the lead singer, landed a song on the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen soundtrack and made a mark on the Billboard charts with Champagne. The song reached number one on the mainstream rock charts, number 22 on the modern rock charts, and number eight on the top rock songs chart.
