Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood is the latest sensation to hit the world of music. Born on March 10, 1983, her mother was a school teacher and her father as an employee at a paper mill. Her family did not have any orientation towards music, but she recognized her musical ability and became an active participant in school plays.
While in her seventh grade, she took part in a local talent hunt. With her soothing vocals, she mesmerized the audience and was told that she had a very bright future. In her childhood days, she enjoyed listening to country songs. In her high school days, she was a very avid participant in her school's music program.
Then came a change in her life, during college she began drifting away from music. But when a chance to participate in American Idol, she decided to give it a try. She cleared all the rounds, erased her competition and proudly annexed the American idol crown on May 25, 2005. Obviously, she became an overnight celebrity and got many lucrative offers. She signed up with Arista Records/19 Recordings.
