Background - Ricky Hatton
Hatton was born in Stockport in Greater Manchester on October 6, 1978 to a family of soccer players. His father and grandfather played for Rochdale, but Ricky went on to find a local boxing club in Hyde. Hatton still trains at the club despite being a huge draw thanks to his 45-1 record and his 32 knockouts. Hatton tickets have seen the boxer, affectionately known as the Hitman, win the WBA Welterweight Championship and win the WBU and WBA Light Welterweight Championships among many other belts.
Currently, Ricky Hatton is the Junior Welterweight Champion, but he debuted professionally on September 10, 1997 in a fight against Colin McAuley, a fight he won in the first round with a KO. Hatton tickets for his second fight took him to Madison Square Garden.
