A Trump Wedding

Tragedy strikes while setting up for Madonna’s “Sticky and Sweet” concert in Marseille France. While erecting the stage for Madonna’s performance it somehow collapsed and killed a 53 year old French man and injured six other people with two of those people receiving serious injuries. At this point it is unknown what exactly caused the accident. The show which was scheduled for this Sunday has been cancelled. Madonna released a statement, “I am devastated to have just received this tragic news. My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking news.”

Good news and bad news for some couples. Starting with the good news….Donald Trump’s lovely daughter Ivanka got engaged last night to her boyfriend of two years, Jared Kushner.  Kushner also comes from a wealthy family and is also very ambitious like Ivanka. Jared comes from a Jewish family and Ivanka is taking the steps to convert to Judaism. Ivanka is 27 and Jared is 28 and the two are very happy. Ivanka sent out a twitter last night stating, “I got engaged last night…truly the happiest day of my life!!!” Now the bad news which I know will not come as a huge surprise. Amy Winehouse and her husband of two years have officially split and have been granted a divorce by a judge in London this morning. In the divorce papers Blake Fielder – Civil, Amy’s ex stated that “living with Winehouse was intolerable”. Once can only imagine from the glimpse into her life what that really means. Amy even admitted that she had an affair back in 2008. The woman is just a train wreck, so like I said divorce is always sad but in her case not a big surprise.

IT has just been announced that this year Farm Aid concert will be held on October 4th in St. Louis Missouri. This will be the first time that the concert will be held in St. Louis. Billy Bob Thornton’s Crazy Interview

Do not mess with Billy Bob Thornton, which is exactly what a Canadian DJ found out when trying to interview Billy Bob and his band, the Boxmasters. Billy Bob pulled a Joaquin Phoenix and was just weird and rude. Actually he was mad because the DJ mentioned ever so briefly Billy Bob’s movie career during the introduction, and that was apparently a big no no. Billy Bob did not want it mentioned at all – he was there as a musician only. So when it came time to answer the DJ’s questions it was all, I don’t know, or answering with some unrelated comment. The other guys in the band seemed ok and luckily led the interview but you just have to check out the video because it is amazing. Then the band, which is on tour with Willie Nelson, went to perform a song, but they did it without Billy Bob, who is the drummer. He said he just doesn’t lug the drums around. Ok, then. It was wild and did not shine any positive light on Billy Bob. The poor DJ did mange the situation as well as could be expected. Billy Bob Thornton was on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night and talked about how shocked he was that people were so interested with the interview gone wrong in Canada. Then with the attitude that got him in trouble in the first place Billy Bob said, “It gave humpback geeks all over the world something to do for a couple of days.” Although Thornton was a good boy with Jimmy Kimmel he does say that if he is not happy with the line of questioning of an interviewer his behavior does tend to go in the same direction as the Canadian interview, so really it was not all that remarkable. Mr. Personality right!?

Mia Farrow is taking it to the extreme to bring attention to the situation in Darfur. Farrow, who is 64 and a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, is planning to stop eating to show her support of the people there. Her goal is to not eat for 3 weeks…I didn’t even know that was possible. She has gained 9 pounds and hopes that will help as she has been told she could lose up to ¼ of her body mass during her starvation.  She plans on only drinking water and will get her blood tested after 2 weeks to check on organ damage. Farrow has been to visit the region 11 times and it is such a desperate situation she felt she had no other choice at this time but to take desperate action. Her goal is to get our government to take some action and make Darfur a priority and help bring peace there. Good luck Mia and be careful!
And yet another use for Twitter…engagement announcements. That is how Fred Durst, from Limp Bizkit, announced his recent engagement to fiancée Ester Nazarov. “It’s on!!!Break out the bubbly!!” Thanks for sharing Fred! In other Twitter news Ellen DeGeneres has also reached 1 million followers this week. Last week that was news this week it is becoming common. After Oprah’s first tweet a week ago Friday the site saw a 43 % increase in users over the previous Friday. And speaking of Ellen…Lindsay Lohan opens up about her break up with Samantha Ronson on today’s show saying that is was basically a surprise to her and that she still loves Samantha. She is going to take some time and focus on her career and try and get that back on track (again).
