What is it about Beyonce and her song, “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it)” and video that the famous boy celebrities just can’t stop spoofing it? First it was Justin Timberlake on SNL, and now Joe Jonas shows his fully uni-tard clad figure along with a pair if stilettos, spoofing the song. The Jonas Brothers are getting the fans all hyped up for the release of their newest album, which drops June 16th, “Lines Vines and Trying Times”. The video is pretty cute, starting out with a very shy Joe hiding behind his brother but then look out, he goes for it. Beyonce just can’t help getting everyone going. Check out the video on YouTube.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are all over the news today. Let’s start with the big news…Angie topped Oprah for the # 1 spot on “Forbes Most Powerful 100 Celebrities” issue. Angie came in #1. Earnings as well as fame decide the ranking. While Angie did earn a whopping $27 million it was nowhere near the $275 million that Oprah grossed in 2008. Oprah did not fall far though, she still is ranked the 2nd most powerful celebrity. Madonna came in 3rd (her most recent tour and income earned her a cool $110 million, 4th was Beyonce, and Tiger Woods came in 5th, which was down from his #2 spot last year. Some newcomers to the list this year were Barack Obama #49, Tobey Keith at #59, Taylor Swift at #69 and Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock came in at #91. Congratulations to all. Back to other Brangelina news…. A rep for the couple has come out denying any break up rumors of the famous couple. The two were just recently seen out together in Cannes at the film festival and are doing fine. The two are very busy with Pitt promoting his new movie, “Inglourious Basterds” and Angie has been working on her new movie, “Salt”. Brad is all starting work on his new movie “Moneyball”, which is based on the book “Moneyball The Art of Winning an Unfair Game”. It’s a baseball movie that is about the Oakland Athletics team. The film is being directed by Steven Soderbergh and the movie will be out sometime in 2011. All good news for the Jolie – Pitt crew. I have to say I am glad the rumors are false because with the whole “Jon and Kate Plus 8” saga, I just don’t think I could take the breakup of Brad and Angie as well.
And speaking of rumors… LeAnn Rimes is being accused of stalking Eddie Cibrian, who it has been alleged that she is having an affair with. The stalking allegations come directly from Cibrians wife. Rimes says the accusation is “incredibly defamatory” and she plans to “take the high road” and she is not going to sink to that level. She is not going to battle this out with the media but rather try and respect theses 2 families and hopefully work it out amongst themselves. She is currently trying to work on her own marriage.
The truth is out in respect to the whole Bruno – Eminem escapade. As many believed the whole incident was completely staged. Eminem said “After the ceremony I went back to my hotel and laughed uncontrollably for about three hours. Especially after I saw it on the air.” Eminem says he is a big fan of Sacha Baron Cohen and when he called him with the idea he was totally on board. He says, “I’m thrilled that we pulled this off better then we rehearsed it.” Nice job guys you definitely had everyone talking with that one!!
Disney’s new “it girl”, Demi Lovato is heading out on tour this summer, starting June 21st in Hartford Connecticut. If you don’t have kids you might not know who I am talking about but this 16 year old girl is the next Miley Cyrus. She currently stars in the new Disney channel show, “Sonny with a Chance” or you may know her from the show “Camp Rock” which she was in with fellow co – stars the Jonas Brothers. Demi is going to be quite a busy kid doing 47 shows this summer which is basically a different city every night. David Archuleta from the 7th season of “American Idol” will be her opening act and Jordan Pruitt and well as KSM will also be helping her out during the tour for special dates. Not bad summer plans for a 16 year old kid.
You know it must be time for,”Project Runway” to come back because Heidi Klum is pregnant again. I swear it seems like she is always pregnant during the show, and season 7, which will begin shooting this summer will be no different. So getting back to the facts…Heidi is pregnant with baby # 4. Talk about supermodel – supermom. Heidi and husband Seal, already have 2 sons together, Henry, 3 and Johan 2, and Heidi has a daughter, Leni 5, which Seal has adopted. Busy and beautiful – congratulations!
Yesterday I shared with you the news about Mel Gibson and his wife of 28 years going through what will probably be the most expensive Hollywood divorce to date, and today I am here to tell you that Mel does not seem all that worried about it because he is vacationing in Costa Rica with a 24 year old. The woman, Oksana Pochepa, who is a Russian pop singer, told The Sun magazine, which is a British publication that “she had a romantic relationship with Gibson and is in love. This is serious and I hope our union will be real and strong and long – lasting.” I am sure she does hope that. Good luck with that!
Who do you think will win this race? So get this… Ashton Kutcher has challenged the CNN network to see who can be the first to get 1 million followers on Twitter. In fact he really doesn’t believe he can do it. He is one person and CNN is a media company. He says if he does to it however he will go to Ted Turners’ house, who is the founder of CNN, and play ding dong ditch on his house. Kutcher is actually in 3rd place with the highest number of followers coming in with 896,947 and Britney Spears is 2nd highest with 905,640 followers and currently CNN is in 1st place with 937,787 followers. No one yet has reached 1 million twitter followers. Now that Ashton has put it out there, I bet he can do it. He has offered his 1 millionth person a copy of Guitar Hero, and he also twittered that he would donate 10,000 mosquito nets for beds to charity if he wins and 1000 if he loses. Larry King and Ashton have been chatting and are both hoping for their own victory. Stay tuned.
I just heard this feel good story and I wanted to share. Jay Leno has just announced that he is going to be doing a free concert in Detroit. He will be performing at The Palace of Auburn Hills on April 7th. Why Detroit you ask? He picked it because currently Detroit has the highest unemployment rate in the country at 11.6% and this is his way of giving back. He says he was actually inspired by President Obama, who says, in these difficult times we all have to do our part. Tickets will be handed out on an honor system and Jay really wants the tickets to go to people who are unemployed. He wants these people who are down on their luck right now to come and have some fun and not worry about costs. Pepsi is sponsoring the show and and even the parking will be free. Leno is even considering bringing the show to other cities if it is a success. I would bet he probably needs to start working on an itinerary. I hope more stars start giving back and doing the right thing to help support their country and their fans.
Grab your kids and share the news, The Jonas Brothers have just announced dates for their 2009 World Tour. The boys will travel to 3 continents and will kick off the tour in Dallas on June 20th. The boys are so excited because they feel they have put together a tour that their fans will never forget. They will be playing new music as well as using some of the newest coolest technology for the show. They are going to have a huge stage, which is actually more than 140 feet. Of course there will be stellar laser lighting effects and giant video screens plus a unique, one of a kind, circular water screen. The Jonas Brothers say there will be a lot of surprises in store and they really want to get up close and personal with the fans and provide them with a very interactive concert. Joining the boys will be “American Idol” winner, Jordin Sparks.
One final good deed to share. E! Entertainment news donated $250,000 to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s charity called The Jolie- Pitt Foundation. The foundation gives a large portion of the money goes to help in New Orleans, as well as the UN to help in Darfur, and money also goes to Cambodia to aid in children’s causes. I hope we continue to see more stories like the ones I have mentioned today.
