The Octomom, Nadya Suleman, finally has the reality show she has been hoping for. Filming will start September 1 and will most likely air first in the U.K and then here in the states. Eyeworks is the company producing the show and they have also produced, “The Biggest Loser” and “Breaking Bonaduce”. Suleman’s brood will make about $250,000 over 3 years and that roughly breaks down to about $250 a day per kid. Compared to other reality shows their taping schedule will be pretty light. For the first year they will only film for 36 days, the second year only 21 days and the third year only 14 days. Sounds pretty non evasive to me. That was Nadya’s plan all along; she just wants to film certain milestones in their lives. Oddly enough she is trying to stay away from the whole “Jon and Kate Plus 8” scenario. Hey, maybe she is smarter than we originally thought. Not to mention 15% of the children’s earnings will automatically go into a trust fund for each child that they cannot touch until they turn 18 as required by state law in California.
It’s official, in addition to Eddie Cibrian and his wife separating, so have LeAnn Rimes and her husband Dean Sheremet. It appears that they have been separated for awhile now but are still trying to work on their marriage. The couple got married when LeAnn was just 19 and have been married for 7 years. It is said that the two have been having problems for awhile and that Cibrian was not the cause of their breakup. Rimes and her husband have their $7.45 million home on the market in Nashville.
The super duo or Elton John and Billy Joel have had two cancel 2 concerts so far in the New York, due to illness on Billy Joel’s end. He has been suffering from flu like symptoms and the doctors have told him to rest up and not perform for the next 72 hours. Promoters for both cancelled shows are in the process of trying to reschedule. For the last two months the “Face 2 Face” tour has been the top grossing concert in the nation.
Now I get how rumors get started. Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Seacrest were spotted having dinner together in Los Angeles. Ryan made a comment to the paparazzi saying that, “Jennifer and Paula would be a hell of a combination on the show”. Then you get the whole story that Paula Abdul may not be returning to Idol and before you know it people think that was what Ryan and Jennifer’s’ dinner was about. Well, Jennifer Lopez is officially denying that she is seeking out Paula’s judging seat on “American Idol”. The fact is she loves the show, but that is it, she is just a fan. Jennifer just turned 40 and has been celebrating her birthday this weekend. She just finished a movie, “The Back – Up Plan” that will be out in January and she also has a new album coming out around that time as well. So much for that rumor!
Speaking of new albums coming out…Avril Lavigne is back and her new album will drop November 17th. Avril worked closed with her hubby, Deryck Whibley from Sum 41, and the album just kind of happened on its own. She worked from her home studio, had fun and the album just happened. She feels that there is a lot of emotion in this new and yet untitled album and is considering doing a theatre tour to promote the album in order to keep the intimacy and emotion she feels it deserves.
Former CBS news legendary anchorman, Walter Cronkite died at the age of 92 this week. He was known to many as “the most trusted man in America” along with nickname of “Uncle Walter”. He reported the news for almost 20 years from 1962 – 1981 and he was the one people turned to for their breaking news and information. He was there to report the devastating news of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, as well as he was there for the ground breaking landing on the moon by the Americans in 1969. When he retired, Dan Rather took over his spot at the news desk. Cronkite was well known for his parting comment each night “And that’s the way it is.” He is survived by his 3 children and 4 grandsons. He was married to his wife Betsy for 64 years but she passed away in 2005. He was part of our history and he will be missed.
We have been so obsessed by the Gosselins and their drama that we have not talked about Nadya Suleman, the Octo-mom in quite some time. Well she is back in the news with a bit of drama of her own. Her 2 year old son Caleb was rushed to the hospital after ingesting chemicals from one of his sibling’s volcano kit. He actually drank the solution and ended up vomiting it up. Just to be safe the paramedics were called. Luckily he was fine and after just a few hours mother and son were back home with the rest of their family. Wow that felt good to talk about her, I have missed the Octomom!! And while we are speaking about one “supermom” why not share what our other “supermom” was up to this weekend. Kate Gosselin and her 8 kids were in New York City this weekend for a TLC marketing event. Kate, minus Jon, plus 8 kids, 2 babysitters and their security arrived at the event and stayed for several hours. In addition to the Gosselins, the Duggar Family was there with their 18 children as well as Jen Arnold and Bill Klein of “Little People: Just Married”. “Jon and Kate Plus 8” should return to the air August 3rd. We will see.
A Beatle was back and performed at the new Citi Field for the first concert. Paul McCartney put on a fabulous show and the crowd went crazy. Ironically it was 44 year ago in 1965 that Paul and the other 3 Beatles performed at Shea Stadium. Paul sang old Beatles tunes like “Drive My Car”, “Got To Get You Into My Life”,” Eleanor Rigby”, “Back in the USSR”, “Let it Be” and “Hey Jude” to name just a few. McCartney had a special guest help him out with one of the songs. Billy Joel was there and sang “I Saw Her Standing There” with Paul. Billy Joel was the one who closed down Shea Stadium last summer and was back for this event. Paul also took time to honor two members of the Beatles who have both died, John Lennon and George Harrison. He played an acoustic song he wrote awhile back to honor John Lennon and played the ukulele to sing “Something” to honor George Harrison. It is just something to hear Paul McCartney sing all those all songs which have such a place in our musical history.
In wedding news…actress Leelee Sobieski is engaged to her boyfriend Adam Kimmel. So far no wedding date has been set. Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit got married to his sweetheart, Esther Nazarov. He posted the news via Twitter. A new hairdo I must tell you about and show you. I am not sure what was going through Rihanna’s mind at the time but she decided to cut her hair with a twist…a Mohawk…interesting, what do you think? Love it or hate it?? My votes…hate it!!!
You just never know where life will take you. Former broken hearted bachelorette, Melissa Rycroft has danced her way to a new job on ABC. Melissa will be a special contributor on “Good Morning America”. Melissa will appear on GMA 8 times throughout the summer “bringing lighthearted, uplifting and fun stories to GMA”. That sounds just perfect for the girl next door who won America’s hearts even if she couldn’t win Jason Mesnick’s from “The Bachelor”.
It seems that its 3 strikes and you’re out for Billy Joel and his third wife, Katie Lee. The two are amicably calling it quits after 5 years of marriage. Katie is 27 and Joel is 60. Katie has been spotted on several occasions with an Israeli fashion designer, Yigal Azrouel who is 36. The final word also seems to be in for T. R. Knight from “Grey’s Anatomy”. His return to the show has been in question and after the shows season finale it looked grim for the doctor who was unrecognizable after being hit by a bus, but anything is possible in TV land. As of this week however, he has been released from his contract. Still unknown though is the fate of Katherine Heigl, and like T.R Knight the finale left her return very questionable as she was unconscious and being resuscitated after her battle with cancer. So we still have to wait and see. I for one will miss George and although I do not love Izzy, she is part of the show and I hate to see her go, and how sad will the show become if everyone is mourning the loss of George and Izzy for the season?
Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift won big at the CMT awards. These awards are based on fan votes and let’s just say they love Brad and 19 year old Taylor. Swift won Video of the Year Award and Female Video of the year for “Love Story” , while Paisley won Male Video of the Year Award, Collaborative Video of the Year award for “Start a Band” with Keith Urban, and CMT Performer of the Year. Rascal Flatts won Group Video of the Year for “Everyday” for the 7th year in a row and Sugarland won Duo Video of the Year for “All I Want To Do” for the 3rd time. Zac Brown Band won the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year for “Chicken Fried” and Kid Rock won Wide Open Country Video of the Year for “All Summer Long”. There were some great performances as you can imagine. Lady Antebellum sang “Lookin’ For A Good Time”, Taylor Swift sang “You Belong With Me”, Brad Paisley sang “Then”, and Dierks Bentley sang “Sideways” and Darius Rucker sang “Alright”. So it was a fun filled night of great music and great winners.
Just wanted to give you and update on the cause of death of Mia Farrow’s brother. The autopsy determined that Patrick Farrow died from a “self inflicted gunshot to the head.” That was quite a shocker to read about. How sad for him and his family.
