2016 NFL Season Preview

2016 should be an exciting one for the NFL, as there seems to be more parody within both the AFC and NFC divisions heading into the season. The regular season begins on September eighth with a rematch between the two Super Bowl 50 teams- the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers. Denver will be looking to show the world that they have the talent and ability to repeat in 2016 while Carolina will be seeking revenge and prove that they deserved to be there in the first place.

In taking a look at the AFC heading into the 2016 season, the usual suspects come to the forefront as favorites. In the AFC East, the New England Patriots are always in the conversation despite star quarterback Tom Brady’s four-game suspension due to his role in deflategate. Miami should see a spike in production with new head coach Adam Gase who is an offensive guru. The Buffalo Bills are also a team that will show improvement as they have a solid defense and a very talented young quarterback in Tyrod Taylor. The AFC North is a tough division annually, with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals all boasting a plethora of talent. Even the Cleveland Browns should see improvement with Robert Griffin III under center and Josh Gordon finally on the field after multiple suspensions for violating the NFL’s drug policy.

In the AFC West, the Broncos will attempt a Super Bowl repeat with their extremely talented defense and a new revamped offense without future Hall-of-Famer Peyton Manning under center. Looking for their fifth AFC West title in a row may be tricky as all three other teams in the division have elevated themselves this offseason. The red headed stepchild of the NFL, the AFC South will hopefully show signs of improvement from 2015 as only one team, the Houston Texans ended last year with an above .500 record.

As far as the NFC goes, the East had a rough go in 2015 with Washington taking the top spot with a 9-7 record. Philadelphia has shed the Chip Kelly era and is looking to bounce back while the NY Giants and Dallas Cowboys both have the talent to be successful this season. In the gritty NFC North, it is anyone’s division as the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions all have the ability to come out on top this season.

The Carolina Panthers dominated the NFC South last year, but hopefully will get some legitimate competition in 2016. Tampa Bay is young yet talented, and New Orleans is also capable of putting a solid season together barring injury. In the western division, it has been a dog fight over the past several seasons and 2016 should be no different. The Rams are now in Los Angeles which could inspire them to play tougher this year. They have to contend with the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals who have been very difficult to beat as of late and both will be looking to emerge atop the division at the end of the regular season.

NFL is king and will remain to be the top sport to watch globally as long as they continue to put a solid product on the field each and every game. 2016 is shaping up to be a thriller, so be sure to purchase your NFL tickets and head out to stadiums all across the United States to catch the exciting on-field action all season long.
