About Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert is best known as a solo singer, but she is also a member of the country trio Pistol Annies (along with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley). Lambert’s excellent career has won her the Grammy Awards, the Country Music Association Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards.

As of 2016, Miranda Lambert has released six studio albums and twenty one singles of which four reached number one on the Billboards. She has also released twenty two music videos, one extended play and seven other appearances. Lambert quickly made her place in the country music scene as a compelling singer at a time when there was a shortage of strong female country singers. Her fans number both among country music fans and alternative crowds who don’t usually enjoy country music.

Her Early Career

Lambert rejected pop music and taught herself to play the guitar in the early 2000s in order to write her own songs. In 2001 she self-financed a self-titled independent album that clearly pointed towards her vocation. But it was two years later, when she won the third place at the Nashville Star TV competition, that her fate as a country singer was sealed. The following year she signed with Epic Nashville and debut her album Kerosine in 2005.

Top Albums

Her first album Kerosene debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and its second single Bring Me Down reached the Top 40. The critics had only good things to say about that album. The title track and her fiery performance of it on a flaming stage at the 2005 CMA quickly sent the album platinum. Her next album Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2007) also went on to reach Platinum status, as did every other subsequent album she put out: Revolution (2009), Four the Record (2011), Platinum (2014).

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend became the most critically-acclaimed country album for the year 2007. She won plenty of praises from magazines and newspapers that usually stayed away from country music.

Also look forward to the two number one hits from her third album Revolution. These moving singles are Heart Like Mine and House that Built Me. The second song was at the top of the charts for four weeks.

Top singles from her 2011 album Four the Record include Over You, Baggage Claim, All Kinds of Kinds, Fastest Girl in Town and Mama’s Broken Heart.
