I think Rihanna may have missed with the announcement of the Diamonds World Tour. Sure, the pop ballad single for which these performances are named has been a hit in every Euro-trash and respectable night club since hitting the radio waves in September, but the album is a much more appropriate name. Unapologetic is an inspired album name from the pop-dancehall-R&B diva and would have just the right kind of attitude to announce her return to the live stage.
She took a year off to make a blockbuster movie and record the new album. Rihanna certainly deserved the rest. Since she arrived as a reggae princess and feature vocals and eye candy seven years ago, she has released six studio albums and trekked the globe on four world tours (that is a lot of Rihanna tickets). Along the way she made actual bad decisions when it came to love, as opposed to a singer like Lady Gaga who only pretends to have such a fierce personal life. Rihanna has had a fling with Jay-Z, a major beef with Beyonce, sent Chris Brown to court, taken him back into her court, and now has inspired the trouble R&B crooner to break poor Karreuche Tran’s heart.
Rihanna may have had an intimate conversation with the Vietnamese-American model (who says all models have to be tall she comes up to Rihanna’s hip and is super-hot!), but the Barbados babe has not removed herself from Chris Brown and it appears she has absolutely no intention of doing so (of course she is still with Def Jam despite the torrid affair and simmering controversy inspiring an anthem for all the single ladies). She is unapologetic in her personal choices and should own this as the image for her return to the touring.
