It’s a boy for Gandma Palin

Congratulations Grandma Palin! Governor Palin’s 18 year old daughter, Bristol, gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday. The baby’s name is Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston and he was born in the early morning, weighing in at a healthy 7 lbs. 7 oz. Baby and momma seem to be doing just fine. Tripp will fit right in with the rest of the Palin boys with his interesting “T” name.  Bristol has brothers named Track and Trig (plus sisters Willow and Piper). Is it me or do they have L.A. names out there in Wasilla, Alaska? The parents are about to have a nice little next egg for their family. IT seems that in the new baby picture wars that Tripp may get about $300,000 for his debut. Not a bad way to start.

Bristol’s pregnancy became big news during the campaign. All of a sudden here she is thrown into the spotlight and understandably she chose to stay out of it. I mean seriously it happens all the time and families are dealing with these young girls getting pregnant. Does Jamie Lynn Spears ring a bell? Can you even imagine having to share the news with literally the world? My heart goes out to the girl who seems to be a typical teenager with a cute former high school hockey player boyfriend, whose life suddenly takes an unlikely turn.
Currently the baby’s father, Levi Johnston, is working as an apprentice electrician, and Bristol is working on getting her high school diploma by doing correspondence courses. The two have been dating for 3 years and do plan to get married sometime in 2009. I wish them all the best; they have a hard road ahead of them raising a family together at such a young age.
Governor Palin’s office had no comment about the baby and said that the matter had nothing to do with state business so they would not be talking about it. Thank you, we appreciate that.
