If the Seattle Seahawks are going to win back to back Super Bowls, they will have to go through the last team to do so, the New England Patriots.
Let’s take a look at some key factors of this matchup and what each team will need to do to hoist that Lombardi Trophy when all is said and done.
Marshawn Lynch- The Seahawks running back is known for wearing down defenses then knocking out long runs in the second half, like the 24-yard touchdown against the Packers in the NFC Championship game. New England really strives to shut down one part of a team’s offensive attack and look for it to be Lynch on Sunday. Most likely they will lean on free safeties Patrick Chung and Devon MCCourty to clog up the run.
Gronk Smash – It is no secret that tight end Rob Gronkowski is the key to the Patriots pass offense, but secret or not, he’s still a huge factor. He is big, strong and can take men with him for decent yards after the catch. He is also great for opening up other New England receivers since he does garner so much attention. Seahawks strong safety Kam Chancellor is athletic enough to battle Gronk in coverage and will most likely be the one to do so.
Patriots O-Line – Seattle’s pass rush will also be key in this intense matchup. If New England quarterback Tom Brady is allowed to actually set his feet in the pocket he can do damage to any opposing defense. The Seahawks will need to get in there and make Brady uncomfortable, breaking up his rhythm and mechanics. Both New England’s offensive line and Seattle’s front seven are playing at a high level in the post season and should be one of the great battles of Super Bowl XLIX.
On paper, Sunday’s matchup is one for the record books. It’s the meeting of two number one seeds facing off in what should be a tremendous display of football on both sides of the ball. Fans of the Patriots, Seahawks or anyone who loves the game of football will not want to miss out those Super Bowl XLIX tickets.
Way back in Week 1, the Seahawks beat the Packers 36-16 at home in the NFL’s season opening game. It was very lopsided as Seattle outgained Green Bay by almost 150 yards offensively and controlled the ball and the clock. This Sunday we will see a rematch of that game for the NFC Championship, yet two very different versions of these teams will take the field.
For one, Percy Harvin who is now a member of the New York Jets had 100 yards in that game and was heavily used on screens, sweeps and slants throughout. The Seahawks have made up for the loss of Harvin by spreading the ball around to Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse, Luke Wilson and others while also featuring a heavy dose of the running game via Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin. Defensively, Seattle experienced a brief mid-season period where they were just average but appear to be back to their full crushing selves in the post season.
The Packers in Week 1 had wideout Jarrett Boykin lined up with crazy talented cornerback Richard Sherman while attempting to free up Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb elsewhere. Boykin has since lost his job to rookie standout Davante Adams who should prove more difficult to defend this time around. Rookie center Corey Linsley made his first career start that night and has grown to become one of the best at his job in the league in the 18 weeks since.
Will the changes made by Green Bay and the injuries to some Seattle defensive players create enough of a difference to make up that 20-point differential from Week 1?
We can expect to see a lot of running by both Marshawn Lynch and quarterback Russell Wilson as the Packers run defense was ranked 20th in yards per carry this season. Green Bay will need a big game from Eddie Lacy who struggled in Week 1 with only 34 yards on 12 carries. Seattle is without both Brandon Mebane and Jordan Hill on the defensive line which will certainly aid his cause.
Aaron Rodgers’ calf is another story in this game as his injury hasn’t had the proper time to heal and Seattle will undoubtedly attempt to exploit that weakness. Last week against Dallas, Rodgers was able to stand a bit taller in the pocket as his offensive line was able to control Dallas’ pass rush. The Seahawks bring a much stronger group in this area and will be looking to shut down Rodgers in the pocket.
Seattle is currently favored to win this matchup yet it could be much closer than most think. Fans lucky enough to have Seahawks tickets will most likely witness a great NFC Championship game as the winner goes on to the Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona.
Seattle rolls into another NFC title game with the help of Russell Wilson’s arm and an assist by Kam Chancellor.
The Seahawks are one step closer to defending their Super Bowl title with a convincing 31-17 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Saturday night. A packed house of fans holding Seahawks tickets witnessed Wilson throw for 268 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions. The Seahawks quarterback also ran for another 22 yards.
Strong safety Kam Chancellor had an incredible game at the perfect time. He not only leapt over the Carolina offensive line twice on a pair of Graham Gano field goal attempts at the end of the first half but he also made a play with five minutes remaining that would end all hope of a Panther comeback. With Carolina driving to try to cut Seattle’s 14-point lead in half, Chancellor anticipated Cam Newton’s throw, jumped up and made the interception and took it to the house for his third postseason career touchdown. It turned out to be the longest touchdown in the Seahawks postseason history, topping Percy Harvin’s 87-yard kickoff return in last year’s Super Bowl.
In the loss, Panther’s quarterback Cam Newton threw for 246 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Rookie Kelvin Benjamin had a solid game posting 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Panthers performed well in such a harsh environment to play in, but just couldn’t overcome three turnovers, two of which Seattle turned into touchdowns.
Seattle became the first defending Super Bowl Champion to win a playoff game the following season since the New England Patriots in 2006.
The Dallas Cowboys accomplished not only breaking a three-year 8-8 streak by finishing the regular season with a 12-4 record, but quarterback Tony Romo performed well in a big game to squeak past the Lions 24-20 last Sunday. They will head north to Lambeau Field to face a Packers team in their chilly home turf which currently has a kickoff time forecasted in the teens.
This Sunday’s division matchup is an interesting one as the Green Bay Packers were undefeated at home during the 2014 regular season, while their opponent Dallas, is the only team in the NFL with a perfect record on the road. Both signal callers were among the top in quarterback rating throughout the regular season, yet Tony Romo and Aaron Rodgers have experienced their share of injury issues this season.
Rodgers aggravated a calf injury in Week 17 and still managed to throw two touchdowns. Romo’s back appears to not be a problem; however his line needs to do a better job of keeping his jersey clean to avoid any further potential injuries. The Cowboys quarterback was sacked six times last week versus the Lions due to a combination of his poor decision making and a weak line.
This Sunday’s game could very well come down to which quarterback makes less mistakes. If we went solely by experience, we all know Rodgers is the favorite, but Romo has surprised many people this season and may not make any crucial typical “Romo” mistakes down the stretch.
Either way it shakes out, fans with Packers tickets should see a great divisional game between two very talented teams. The winner goes on to face either the Panthers or Seahawks for the NFC title.

We want our fans there to know how much they matter to us,” explains Chester Bennington, lead vocalist of Linkin Park. In regards to how the three bands got together, Tim Mcllrath, lead vocalist and guitarist of Rise Against clarifies, “After crossing paths with these guys at festivals around the world over the past decade, we’re excited to finally share the road with Linkin Park,” he further adds, “We think this will be a great experience for all our collective fans.” Austin Carlile, Of Mice and Men, is especially eager to tour with Linkin Park, “We are really excited to be joining Linkin Park on The Hunting Party Tour. This is sure to be one amazing tour, so don’t hesitate in grabbing your tickets today!
Heading into Week 14 of the NFL season, the playoff picture is beginning to take shape and we can see more clearly the majority of the teams heading to the postseason and which ones should be preparing for their 2015 draft picks.
As it stands right now in the AFC, the New England Patriots have the first seed with a 9-3 record followed by the Denver Broncos, also at 9-3 but sit in the second spot as they lost to the Patriots in Week 9. Both of these teams would be granted a first round bye. The third seed goes to the 8-3-1 Cincinnati Bengals who if the season ended today would face the sixth seeded 7-5 Miami Dolphins in Cincinnati. The Indianapolis Colts sit in the fourth spot with a record of 8-4. They would get to play at home against the fifth seeded San Diego Chargers who currently have a record of 8-4. Other AFC teams still alive but need some help to break into the post season include Kansas City, Buffalo, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Cleveland who all sit at 7-5. The Texans have a very small outside chance at 6-6.
In the NFC, the top spot goes to the 9-3 Arizona Cardinals followed by the Green Bay Packers, also 9-3 who would both receive a bye in the first round if the season ended today. The 9-3 Philadelphia Eagles earn the third seed and would face off at home against the Detroit Lions who have a current record of 8-4. Coming out of the pathetic NFC South, the less than .500 Atlanta Falcons with a 5-7 record, would receive home field advantage against the Seattle Seahawks who heading into Week 14 have a record of 8-4.In the NFC, the amount of teams still in the hunt is greater than the AFC with a total of eight franchises still hanging onto post season hope. Dallas, San Francisco, New Orleans, Chicago, Minnesota, St Louis, Carolina and Tampa Bay all have a shot at playoff glory depending on how the rest of the season shakes out.
The remaining four weeks of the season should be a fun ride and fans should make sure to grab their popcorn, remote controls and money to get a hold of those coveted NFL Playoff tickets.
Get ready for a whirlwind of rap because after several months of speculation, controversial artist Chris Brown and dapper soul man, Trey Songz, have officially announced their “Between the Sheets” tour at a press conference at Hollywood’s House of Blues. Of course, the duo will kick things off in none other than their native state of Virginia as the performers will be playing 25 shows beginning January 28th in Hampton, VA at the Hampton Coliseum and ending on March 8th in Los Angeles at The Forum. But those aren’t the only two acts that will be showcased; special guest Tyga will also be joining them in what is promised to be a spectacular string of shows all across the nation! I don’t know about you but I think Tyga has some pretty catchy beats, so be sure to reserve your Chris Brown tickets as soon as possible; there’s no telling when this trio will be back on the road together!
Believe it or not, Chris brown has one of the highest ratings when it comes to his concert reviews. Out of over 1,000 concert goers, this performer has an average of 4.7! That’s astounding! One ticketholder insists it was the best night of his life saying, “Breezy definitely knows how to entertain the crowd. It was wild!” Another raves, “Chris brown is an amazing performer, he did not disappoint! It was the first time I have ever seen him and he knows how to put on a show. Barry Manilow is back and better than ever before for his upcoming, “One Last Time” tour. The idol is set to kick off his tour on February 11th in Omaha, NE at the Centurylink Center and end his run on June 17th in Brooklyn NY at the Barclay’s Center. Barry Manilow tickets are now on sale so hurry and reserve yours to see this legendary singer live in concert. This old timer is very excited yet somewhat “scared” to embark on this four month tour because it is “as close to a one-man show as (he’s) ever done”. In regards to the songs he is particularly excited to perform, he admits, “’Tryin’ to Get the Feeling’ has been a revelation. I’d forgotten how powerful that was. I’d forgotten how deep I can crawl into that one, and maybe because I’m older it means even more. ‘If I Should Love Again’ – I was just so impressed with myself writing something like that. It wasn’t a single and people didn’t really know about it, but it’s a beautiful song and that’s part of what I’m loving.” If you’re wondering if we will hear any material soon after his concert, the musician reported, “Yeah, I think I’m gonna tackle a Volume 2 of 2:00 A.M. Paradise Café. That was another original album that was a very important experience for me, and it was very well received. I don’t know whether I’ll match that first Paradise Café album – that’s heavy competition. But I’m gonna tackle it and if I make it, that’s going to be a very rewarding project.” So there you have it! Barry Manilow is now selling tickets for his upcoming tour AND we get to expect some great new music from him in the future! It’s a win-win for everyone!
It is officially time to hurry up and get your Taylor Swift tickets before they are all sold out! This will be an experience of a lifetime. In an interview with TIME magazine the 24-year-old music icon revealed some details about the set-list for her upcoming tour, “I know that with the way the fans have latched onto this album, the set-list will be predominantly songs from 1989. You know, when I go back and play songs I know they want to hear, like Love Story or Trouble, it’ll be interesting to re-imagine them so that the fans get a new experience that feels in keeping with 1989. But I’m so excited. I have so many things I’ve been dreaming up for this.” This girl really knows how to treat her fans! And what’s more is that she is planning on having some special guests join her on stage, “I love Iggy Azalea, I love Haim. I’d say Vance Joy, but he’s opening up the tour, so he’ll be there anyway. The things that I try to really focus on when bringing out people as surprise guests is what do my fans really want to see, what would they lose their minds over? Not to show too many of my cards here—but I have probably 10 guests that I’m thinking about that would be amazing.” This will be epic. I can’t even imagine what she has planned as she has already had Nicki Minaj, and Usher, and T.I. as specialty acts in the past!
