Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys released their debut album, "Jumping from 6 to 6". The album was produced by Dave Alvin, who was the guitarist of Blasters. They then released their second album, Swingin' West, in the year 1995. The album was more or less influenced by Western swing. In 1997, they released their next album "Feelin' Kinda Lucky". The album was eclectic in approach. In the year 1998, Big Sandy and the group took a break and started recording on their own. Big Sandy released his own solo album, "Dedicated to You". The album consists of covers of doo-wop oldies and also R&B. On the other hand, the band also released an album entitled "Big Sandy Presents the Fly-Rite Boys". The album proved to be instrumental tour de force. In the year 1999, Big Sandy and the band reunited again. These reunion resulted in the release of an EP, "Radio Favorites". Another added feature of the EP was Carl Sonny Leyland, who played the piano in the EP. Leyland joined the band, when Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys finished the recording of Feelin' Kinda Lucky. In the year 2000, they released Night Tide appeared in 2000 and in the year 2003, they released their next album "It's Time!". A year later, they released Rockin' Big Sandy. The album was the collection of the biggest hits of Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys for HMG and Hightone. After that they signed up with Yep Roc Records and in the year 2006, they released eclectic album "Turntable Matinee". As Sandy says, "I think with this album we've gotten to the point where we fully and more accurately represent the full spectrum of what we were listening to when all of us were growing up"

Artist Biography - Big Sandy
Big Sandy started his career in the 90s, forming his own band the Fly-Rite Trio. According to Big Sandy, "When I was growing up in Southern California, a lot of the old R&B guys were still playing. The first show my parents took me to was Ray Charles. I used to go see Richard Berry, and Cliffie Stone still did a weekly talent show at the Palomino." Along with the band, Sandy started performing in various shows. Almost all their shows were a major hit. Boosted by the success of their shows, they released an album in the year 1991. It was followed by their next album "On the Go" released in the year 1992. With that they started touring throughout the world, in 1998 Sandy decided to start his own solo career.
Although their sound roots back to rockabilly, but it also consists of Western Swing, bluegrass, folk, Cajun and is also influenced by mariachi. The major members of the band are Big Sandy, Lee Jeffriess, Bobby Trimble, Ashley Kingman. Big Sandy real name was Rusty Williams. He was interested in music from childhood onwards, as his parents were avid listener of jump blues and as such had a huge collection of records. Sandy was highly influenced with the revival of the rockabilly, that happened during the early '80s. As a result of which he started performing with a number of bands of neo-rockabilly scenario, performing specially in southern California. Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys was formed as a three members band. With their increasing popularity, its lineup expanded, that consists of Wally Hersom as the bassist, Lee Jeffriess on steel guitar, Ashley Kingman as the guitarist, and Bobby Trimble as the drummer. Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys are also known to collaborate at international levels, performing with the likes of Kingman and Jeffriess who hails from the U.K.
