Big Apple Circus
Picturesque is the 27th production of the Big Apple Circus and celebrates great Impressionist and Modern artists by bringing the works of Renoir, Degas, Chagall, Lautrec, Calder and Picasso to life. Transforming their works into a riot of motion, Picturesque is an intensely visual show. Along with the antics of clown star Barry Lubin as 'Grandma,' featured acts include the Mongolian Angels female duo trapeze artists; the 13-person Kovgar Troupe on the teeterboard; ceramic jar juggling by Guiming Meng and more juggling by Picaso, Jr; and hand balancing soloist Chy Meiling
Can't have a circus without animals and the Big Apple variety include Yasmine Smart and her Arabian stallions and the birds, dogs and cats trained by Svetlana Shamsheeva. All this plus a glorious assortment of supporting performers. It's all hosted by emcee Dinny McGuire.

The Big Apple Circus was founded in 1977 by Paul Binder and Michael Christensen. It was one of the first intimate, 1-ring circuses set under a tent to be a hit in the US. The Big Apple Circus has become a holiday tradition in New York City.
