Benny Mardones
Benny Mardones from Maryland erupted into the music scene in the 80s with "Into the Night." It was an instant hit, so much so that it made to the Top Ten twice, a first for a solo artist. For his incredible and passionate performance he was nicknamed "The Voice". Though his other releases like 1996's Most Requested Songs and 1999's Angel did not top the charts, but he had already made a deep impact, with his raspy voice and down-to-earth songwriting.

Artist Biography - Benny Mardones

Born in Cleveland, Ohio he was inspired by Elvis Presley. After watching Presley on the Ed Sullivan Show, Benny Mardones had decided to become a rock n roll singer. He formed a band and performed at local high schools. After that his musical career came to a stop as he joined the Navy during the Vietnam war. After his stint in the Navy, he went to New York. There he got into song writing and co-wrote, Too Heavy to Carry, with Alan Miles. The song was recorded and Benny Mardones arrived at the musical scene. There was no looking back as the songs penned by the duo were gaining quite a fan following. His friends suggested that he sing his own songs. He hit the road with Richie Havens and did the opening act.
He and his new writing partner Bobby Tepper, churned out new songs which were far better then his previous ones. He recorded the album Never Run, Never Hide. He was riding the waves of success but his personal life was taking a plunge. He got into drugs. From then on his musical career has seen a lot of upheavals. A documentary, Into the Night:The Benny Mardones Story by Greg Ross has been accepted enthusiastically.
His 25 years of musical journey has been recored in 'A journey Through Time', both the version acoustic as well as duplicate version of classic hit, Into the Night along with 4 new tracks are featured in the album.
