Ben lee and rock band Rooney has come together on stage to rock the crowd with their wonderful combo music. The band and well known musician Ben lee will be performing on Tuesday, November 7th, 2006 at Fine Line Cafe.
Born on Sept 11, 1978 in Sydney, Australia, Ben Lee is a renowned and multi-talented Australian musician and actor. He started his career at a very young age of 14 as a musician joining the Sydney based band Noise Addict, but focused on his solo career after the break up of band. He also acted in the Australian film "The Rage In Placid Lake" in 2003.
In late 2004, and began his own record label named as , Ten Fingers. His debut release on the label was the single, "Gamble Everything For Love", which was followed by the album, "Awake Is The New Sleep" in February 2005. This album became a double platinum in Australia. This album revealed a much brighter, positive side of Lee's personality, in contrast to his previous darker pondering. His album has been nominated for the 2005 Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) awards, and Lee received Best Male Artist, Best Independent Release, and Single Of The Year for Catch My Disease. "Catch My Disease" also climbed #2 on the 2005 Triple J Hottest 100. This mega hit song was also featured on the soundtrack to the 2005 film, "Just Friends," and as the soundtrack to the television series, "Grey's Anatomy". It was sampled in a television commercial for Dell Computers in 2006. On Sunday, March 26th, 2006, Lee played "We're All In This Together" and amazed the audience with their rocking performance, at the closing ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
The stage sharing band, Rooney is a well known five-piece group based in Los Angeles. The band with current lineup including Robert Carmine, Louie Stephens, Taylor Locke, Ned Brower, and Matthew Winter, is signed to Geffen Records. The band has derived its name from the character Principal Ed Rooney from the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The music of band always reminds us of British Invasion rock and 1980s pop, and often compared to The Beatles, The Cars and Blur. The band has toured with Weezer and The Strokes. Rooney's official website says that the band "manages to capture elements from the past four decades and make them sound modern today."

Rooney started touring the U.S. with Kelly Clarkson in summers to early August. During their final tour, Kelly played many pranks on the band during their performances, beginning with a prank when announcer introduced them as "the teen sensations from Cleveland, Ohio, RODNEY!" before more than 20,000 people. The band is planning to release their second album in early 2007.
One of the band's song entitled "The Sleep Song," which is never featured on any album yet, was included twice in the 2005 cult film "The Chumscrubber" and was subsequently searched out by many fans of the movie.
