Barenaked Ladies Tickets for Sale

The Barenaked Ladies are back in the summer of 2013 on for the second annual Last Summer on Earth Tour. It turns out the Mayans had it wrong, so the band, who has been a four-piece for the past four years, decided to sign with another record label and have another go at a summer tour. This time Barenaked Ladies tickets will be concert tickets to enjoy the band along with Guster, Ben Folds Five, and a comedian/singer from the UK by the name of Boothby Graffoe.

The new record contract with Vanguard Records means the pop-rock quartet with a penchant for humorous lyrics will be releasing a new album. The new album has yet to be named, but it has some impressive names attached as producers. Expect to hear a few new tracks from the album in a set list mostly comprised of old fan favorites.

Of course, there is another reason for the tour other than the album. The Barenaked Ladies are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. The group will not be bringing back original member and co-singer Steven Page for the tour, but the Canadian group has done quite well for themselves in the last few years without him.

The Barenaked Ladies are a perfectly Canadian band. They are extremely likable without being too edgy and they have a gift for comedy. This is the reason the Toronto natives have been able to survive so long, outlasting a backlash and re-emerging after scoring the Big Bang Theory theme song.

The group formed out of a friendship between Ed Robertson and Steven Page. The two bonded over music and by taking a light-hearted approach to performing. They also had a natural ability to harmonize and enough friends from music camp to throw together a group to tour Canada as an opening for Corky and the Juice Pigs. This group would not be the same as the band roster that would rise to international fame. Ultimately, that group consisted of Robertson and Page along with Jim Creeggan, Kevin Hearn, and Tyler Stewart.

First, the quintet conquered Canada with the albums Gordon and Maybe You Should Drive. The Barenaked Ladies American success came a bit later, specifically after the re-release of “If I Had $1,000,000” and “Brian Wilson” in the middle of the ‘90s.The songs quickly became radio hits and the group’s next studio album, Stunt, went quadruple platinum in both the United States and in Canada. The songs “Our Apartment” and “It’s A Been Done” joined the live tracks on the radio as heavily rotated singles.

The group actually recorded albums with greater frequency in the 21st century, but the band had been moved from the forefront of music to the adult contemporary station. Original band member Page has left the group, but the Barenaked Ladies continue to fill venues. In addition, the group has found a new place to shine, television. They wrote and performed the theme song for the popular CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory. Chances are they will play this song live too.
