Bacon Brothers
Kevin Bacon was most recently seen in Ron Howard's hugely successful "Apollo 13," also starring Tom Hanks, Gary Sinise and Bill Paxton. He received critical praise for his performance in last year's "Murder in the First." For his role as a convict on trial for murderer. Kevin was voted Best Actor by The Broadcast Critics Association, and received Best Supporting Actor nominations from both The Screen Actors Guild and the London Film Critics Circle. Last year, Kevin was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for his role in "The River Wild" co-starring Meryl Streep. Kevin's other roles include the brilliant but self-destructive Fenwick in "Diner," the dancing rebel in "Footloose," an overly expectant father in John Hughes' "She's Having a Baby." a disarming, psychotic killer in "Criminal Law," a film student director wooed by Hollywood in "The Big Picture," and the hapless handyman cowboy in "Tremors." Most recently, Kevin reunited with "Diner" director, Barry Levinson, on "Sleepers" starring with Brad Pitt, Robert DeNiro, and Jason Patric, on the streets of New York City this past Fall. The film will be released this November by Warner Bros. Kevin lives in Connecticut with his wife and their children, Travis and Sosie.

The Bacon Brothers earned considerable attention long before they ever released an album; singer/guitarist Kevin Bacon already enjoyed a successful career as one of the most prolific screen actors of his generation, with starring performances in films including Diner, Footloose, JFK, The River Wild and Apollo 13. He originally formed the Bacon Brothers with his singer/guitarist brother Michael in 1994 to perform at a charity event in their hometown of Philadelphia, although the two siblings' collaborative musical history in fact dated back to their childhood; while Kevin later explored acting, Michael forged his own musical career fronting the 1970s folk-rock band Good News, subsequently recording a pair of solo albums. He then moved into composing for film and television, earning an Emmy Award for his score for the documentary The Kennedys. Following their 1994 formation, the Bacon Brothers (rounded out by bassist Paul Guzzone and drummer Marshal Rosenberg) took their country-folk sound on the road, garnering much media notice on the strength of the siblings' pre-existing notoriety; they issued their debut LP, Forosoco, in late 1997. Getting There followed two years later; Can't Complain appeared in summer 2001.

 Kevin and Michael Bacon have written and played music together for over twenty years. Success in their respective acting and music careers has recently allowed them time to devote their energies to "The Bacon Brothers," formed in 1994.
After a musically diverse childhood of classical, folk, and rock music, Michael formed the Philadelphia based folk-rock band "Good News" which toured extensively in the 1970's and recorded for Columbia Records. After moving to Nashville, he recorded two solo albums for Monument/CBS. Jerry Lee Lewis, Carlene Carter, Perry Como, Peter Yarrow and Claude Francois are just a few of the artists that have recorded songs written by Michael. His voice can also be heard singing on a national jingle for Poland Spring Water.
In 1985 he moved to NYC to compose music for films and television. In 1993, Michael won an Emmy for the score for the documentary "The Kennedys," an Ace Award nomination for "The Man Who Loved Sharks," and both the Television Music Award and The Chicago International Film Festival Gold Plaque Award for "LBJ." Shows he has scored have won numerous Awards, including 2 Academy Awards ("The Johnstown Flood" in 1993 and "A time for Justice" in 1995) and numerous Emmy Awards. Bacon has a degree in music from Lehman College where he studied composition and orchestration with John Corgiliano. He lives in New York City with his wife. Betsy, and son Neil, and plays right wing on "The Hornets" ice hockey team.
Kevin Bacon's strongest musical memories are of listening to his brother and the music he brought home. As a teenager he decided to pursue acting rather than music, but retained his love of rock. soul and folk music of the 60's and 70's. Throughout his acting career, he has continued to collaborate with Michael, culminating with their most recent effort "Losing Chase." "Losing Chase," for which Michael has written the score, marks Kevin's directorial debut. This feature film, which features Kevin's wife Kyra Sedgwick (also Executive Producer), Helen Mirren, and Beau Brides, was recently honored with a screening at Robert Redford's prestigious Sundance Film Festival.
