2005 Season Preview

 With only five races remaining in NASCAR's Chase for the NEXTEL Cup, Tony Stewart and the #20 Home Depot Racing Team had their sights set on accomplishing one goal -- finding victory lane at Martinsville Speedway. However, at the conclusion of Sunday's Subway 500, the only thing Stewart and Co. discovered was a dismal 15th place finish.
Stewart, who showed signs of greatness early in the race, quickly positioned himself as a top contender. From his 13th place starting spot, it took Stewart 91 circuits to seize the lead. Stewart maintained the lead for 18 laps, but an ill-handling race car would dampen any chance of preserving his view from the front. Plagued by 'forward bite' issues and an extremely tight race car, Stewart's day at the shortest track on the Nextel Cup schedule would become very long.
