Samsung 500 Tickets Held each year at the Texas Motor Speedway, the Samsung 500 is a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race held in Fort Worth, Texas. Even though the Samsung 500 name would lead one to assume it is a 500-mile race, it is actually 501 miles, since the Texas Motor Speedway is a 1.5 mile track and the race is 334 laps. There were 12 different winners in the first dozen races, now known as the Samsung 500. This was the longest such streak of its kind for any track in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series until Jeff Burton, the winner of the first race in 1997, broke the streak by getting his second Texas Motor Speedway win with a last lap pass in the 2007 Samsung 500. Jeff Gordon won the 2009 Samsung 500, thus breaking his prior 47-race winless streak.

 RadioShack was previously a co-sponsor with Samsung for the race (2002-2006). NASCAR's grandfather clause was invoked in 2003 when Nextel took over from Winston as Cup sponsor; allowing the Samsung name to remain even though Nextel banned rival wireless sponsors (Nextel uses Motorola exclusively). The ban was lifted after the 2005 merger of Sprint and Nextel, since Sprint is sold at RadioShack, and Sprint offers Samsung products, but the race has carried only the Samsung name in its title since 2007. Scheduled for April 18, 2010, at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, get tickets now and make plans to be there for the next running of the Samsung 500.
