Ford 400 Tickets The Ford 400 is not only the final official race of the Sprint Cup Series season but, as of 2004, it is also the last race in the 10-race Chase for the Sprint Cup. Held at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida, the race is relatively new on the NASCAR circuit, first being run in 1999, and known then as the Pennzoil 400 Presented by Kmart. Beginning with the 2002 season, the Ford 400 has been part of the Ford Championship Weekend, in addition to becoming a huge success as the last race for The Cup since 2004 when, in a thrilling race, the championship points lead changed hands multiple times during the actual race. While the 2004 Ford 400 race was actually won by Greg Biffle, in the end it was Kurt Busch holding off Jimmie Johnson by eight points to win The Chase championship – then the closest final margin in NASCAR Cup history. Since the inaugural Pennzoil 400 race in 1999, there have been only two drivers to win more than once and in consecutive years; Greg Biffle with three wins (2004-06) and Tony Stewart in the first two races ever held (1999, 2000).
