Allstate 400 At The Brickyard Tickets The term "Brickyard" is in reference to the nickname historically used for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 1910. Originally completely paved in brick in 1909, the course still maintains a three foot strip of exposed brick at the start/finish line. Due to a naming rights arrangement with Allstate Insurance Company, the race has been officially known as the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard since 2005. The 2007 Brickyard 400 was the site of a couple of notable personal milestones, when Juan Pablo Montoya became the first, and only driver to date, to race in all three of the major events hosted by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway; the Indianapolis 500, the Allstate Brickyard 400, and the U.S. Grand Prix. Montoya, a rookie in the Sprint Cup series, also finished second to Tony Stewart in that race.

 The 2009 Allstate 400 also had former Indy 500 winner Juan Pablo Montoya playing a role. Having dominated most of the race, leading 116 laps, Montoya was penalized for speeding in the pits with 35 laps to go, and the infraction left Jimmie Johnson holding off the initial pole-sitter Mark Martin for the victory. The victory joins Johnson with Jeff Gordon as the only other three-time winner, while also making him the first ever to win consecutive Brickyard 400 races; Gordon (1994, 1998, 2001) and Johnson (2006, 2008-09).
