The Australian Pink Floyd Show also known as TAPFS was formed in the year 1988, in South Australia. They are a tribute band of Pink Floyd. They have gained considerable attention as they perform in many shows and their performance resembles the actual Pink Floyd concerts. Their popularity has increased so much that they sometimes conducts Arena tours.
The Australian Pink Floyd consists of Steve Mac - vocals, guitars, lap steel guitar, Jason Sawford – keyboards, Colin Wilson - vocals, bass guitar, Damian Darlington - vocals, guitars, keyboards, Paul Bonney - drums, percussion. During the tours, they are sometimes joined by some other members also Ian Cattell - vocals, bass guitar, who sometimes plays in place of Colin Wilson and Jamie Humphries – guitars, who plays in place of Steve Mac. Presently, these additional members are touring with the band outside of the UK and Europe
The Australian Pink Floyd are actually the only Pink Floyd tribute band to have again created the guitar set-up of David Gilmour's guitar which also includes the rare box that is generally used to create the sounds of the seagull in Echoes. They are also the only band to have played for any of the member of the Pink Floyd, though in 1996, APS has performed in the 50th birthday of David Gilmour, but Australian Pink Floyd performances was outstanding. They have also performed at the Royal Albert Hall, on November 26th 2001. During the performance, the band was joined with the choir from Islington Green School for a rendition of Another Brick in The Wall pt. 2. This performance was attended by Roger Waters too.

What makes the shows of The Australian Pink Floyd Their outstanding and unique is that the band members not only includes the music that was originally written by Pink Floyd, but their shows also features a psychedelic lightshow that is projected onto a screen at the front. This lightshow continues for a 2 and a half hour, during the concert. Generally, the show continues for one hour of music which is followed by intermission for almost 20 minute. Then the music continues for another hour and concludes with an encore of 'Comfortably Numb' and 'Run Like Hell'.
The Australian Pink Floyd Show was formed in the year 1988, in Adelaide, South Australia, but came to be known to the world after they shifted to UK. They became the first Pink Floyd tribute band to tour in the UK, in the year 1993. They did their first performance at the first International Pink Floyd fan convention at Wembley convention centre. In the year 1994, The Australian Pink Floyd met the co-writer of Atom Heart Mother, Ron Geesin. When the band was performing at The Fairfield Halls, Croydon UK in 1994, David Gilmour and percussionist Gary Wallis (Pink Floyd) attended their gigs. They liked the show of the band so much that they invited the band to The Division Bell Tour' party, where the band got the chance to meet all the members of Pink Floyd. They have also played on stage with Pink Floyd with David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Guy Pratt, Tim Renwick, Gary Wallis and Claudia Fontaine
