Then came their next single "Formed a Band" that was released in the UK in the year 2004, on May. The single was a smashing hit and it reached #52 on the charts. Blender was very much impressed with them and described Art Brut as the best unsigned band in the UK. After this they embarked upon extensive tour. At the end of the year of 2004, throughout the UK, they played gigs, also including a first anniversary gig at the Tata Modern. They decided to carry on with their recording, so another pirated EP Brutlegs 04 was recorded that featured "Good Weekend", "Bang Bang Rock and Roll" and also an acoustic version of "Moving to LA". On December, in the year 2004, a double A-side was released on Fierce Panda. This reached #49 on the charts. In the year 2005, on May, the album Bang Bang Rock and Roll was released along with "Emily Kane" as the first single. But "Emily Kane" missed the UK Top 40 just only by two sales. But the most surprising thing about it is that it remained the highest-charting single on Fierce Panda. Bang Bang Rock and Roll was produced by John Fortis. John Fortis has the reputation of working with famous artists such as Razorlight Maxim Reality, The Pipettes, Neneh Cherry and Assembly Now.
Such is their popular that, Art Brut have widespread following of franchises, whose name ranges from AB0 (the classic Art Brut) to AB3.14/Pi or even to AB1948. When Art Brut are performing in a show, these franchises often record the show as well as play them. In the year 2005, on September, Chris Chinchilla left the band due to some personal problems. He later formed a new band Macca Mulatta. Chris Chinchilla was later replaced by Jasper Future who is a guitarist and he left Eddie Argos' old band, The Art Goblins to join Art Brut. Eventually, they also appeared on the cover of the German edition of the Rolling Stone magazine in September 2005.
As their fame increased far and wide, invitation started pouring in to perform shows in many places. In the year 2006, Art Brut performed at the Coachella Valley Music Festival and at the Festival Internacional de Benicàssim in July, of the same year. Recently they have released their second album on Mute Records, that contains rocking songs such as Post Soothing Out', 'Blame It On The Trains', 'St. Pauli' and 'Direct Hit'.
