Area 2 Music Festival
Area 2 is a music festival put together and launched by Moby. The first incarnation of the festival was in 2001, then it was called Area: One. It was also awarded the Dancestar Award for "2001 Tour of the Year." The 2001 version consisted of handpicked artists like Outkast, the Roots, Incubus, Nelly Furtado, New Order, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Rinocerose, Detroit Innovators, Timo Maas and the Orb.
The festival's mastermind Moby said, "My goal with the Area Festival is to put together a festival that's genuinely interesting and eclectic, and I think that with this year's line-up, we've more than surpassed ourselves." The unique thing about the Area music festival is that it provides a unique mix of rock, pop, hip-hop, electronic, dance music and trance. That means the audiences get the best of every style of music. You just need a love for music to attend.
The Los Angeles Times said, "Any show that features Incubus, Outkast and Moby playing in succession has to be lauded for its eclecticism." Nelly Furtado was specially impressed by the festival, she said "It's like an individuality tour."
