Background- Known for their impersonation of superheroes and comic lyrics, Aquabats blends upbeat rock and roll in their music.
Aquabats is a clownish eight-piece, sometimes more than that, unit that hails from the California coast. The band is most popular for their energized new wave of ska-punk. The figures ranges from Courtney Love to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Squirrel Nut Zippers. The band is, usually led by vocalist Christian Jacobs ("The Bat Commander"). The group does the impersonation of the Batman series of the '60s, always in a different horde on every LP cover. Some times, they are joined by a number of instrumentalists, including James Briggs (Jaime the Robot), Courtney Pollack (the Prince of Karate), Adam Diebert (Prince Adam), Chad Larson (Crash McLarson), Travis Barker (the Baron Von Tito), Charles Grey (Ultra Kyu), and Boyd Terry (Catboy). Aquabats are supported by a loyal fan club, known as the Aquabats Cadet Faction. The members of the club are known as known as Aquacadets.

They released their debut album, "Return of the Aquabats", on Horchata Records in the year 1996. This was followed by their sophomore album, "Fury of the Aquabats", that was released in the year 1997 on Time Bomb. The album was great hit. They took some time off and returned two years later with their next album "Aquabats vs. the Floating Eye of Death!".Prior to the release of the album, Barker left the group to join blink-182. He was later replace by drummer Dr. Rock. With the new drummr the group released their next album "Myths, Legends and Other Amazing Adventures, Vol. 2" that was released in the year 2000. After the release of the album, Dr. Rock and Ultra Kyu left the group. Rock was replaced by Ricky Fitness. In the year 2003, "The Serious Awesomeness!" a DVD, which was a compendium of live Aquabats, was released. The DVD was followed by an EP, "Check Out This Ride". After a gap of almost six years, the group released a LP "When Charge!! (Nitro)"which appeared in June 2005. During that period the official lineup of the band consists of vocalist Bat Commander, bassist Crash McLarson, guitarist Chainsaw, drummer Fitness, and sax-playing keyboardist Jimmy the Robot.

From 2002-2003, MC Bat Commander - lead vocals, Chainsaw, The Prince of Karate – guitar, Prince Adam – trumpet, The Robot - saxophone synth, Crash McLarson – bass, Ricky Fitness – drums, Catboy – trumpet. From 2003-2005 MC Bat Commander - lead vocals, Chainsaw, The Prince of Karate – guitar, Crash McLarson – bass, Jimmy The Robot - saxophone synth, Prince Adam - guitar, trumpet, Ricky Fitness – drums.
