Ann & Nancy Wilson
In 1974, Ann and Nancy Wilson created the hugely successful, trail-blazing musical partnership Heart, which resulted in numerous multi-platinum albums, six Top Ten Pop hits, and worldwide career sales of more than 20 million records. They grew up in southern California and during their youth they both took an interest in folk and pop music. Although she learned to play many instruments, Ann never took any formal music lessons in her life, while Nancy took up guitar and flute. In college Nancy began performing as a folksinger and Ann joined the all male band White Heart, soon to be known as Heart. Nancy joined the band in 1974 and they released their debut album Dreamboat Annie, in 1975. The album soon achieved platinum status with it's singles "Crazy on You" and "Magic Man." In 1978 the band released the unfinished LP Magazine on Mushroom shortly after the band issued its true follow-up Little Queen on Portrait. The single "Barracuda" was another huge hit, and like its originator, Little Queen sold over a million copies.
