Andy Stochansky is a singer/songwriter and former drummer for Indie artist Ani DiFranco. He is a talented musicians and can play a wide array of instruments with ease. He spend seven years as a drummer for DiFranco's band before hitting out as a solo artist.

Stochansky wanted to make a name for himself and distance himself from the shadow of DiFranco. He wanted to establish his individual status in the music industry. He began working on his first solo effort, "While You Were Sleeping" when he was still a part of DiFranco's band. The independently released album was critically acclaimed. He got the thumbs up from critics in his second coming as well. His second solo attempt, "Radio Fusebox" released in 1999 was proclaimed as one of the best albums of the year. One critic went as far enough to say that it was the best album of the decade.

Andy Stochansky was being compared to artists like Jeff Buckley, Brian Eno and U2's Bono. Andy is proficient in playing the piano, saxophone and guitar. His songs also feature instruments like bouzoukis, Accordion and uilleann pipes. He has recorded and and performed on stage with Jonathan Richman, the Indigo Girls, Janis Ian, Jane Siberry and John Gorka. He has been a music enthusiast from the age of four.

Stochansky joined DiFrnaco's band when he was in his twenties. His music is a blend of folk, jazz and electronica. He made his major label debut in 2002 when he was signed up by RCA Victor.
