Born on the 20th of June 1946 in the city of Nuremberg, Germany, Abdre Watts began his musical career when he was just a kid. As most others at his age, he too was not very keen on doing practice so his mother used to tell him tales about great musicians & their lives. Thus began the grooming & he decided to become a great artist himself. He joined the Philadelphia Academy of Music, where he studied with people like Genia Robinor, Doris Bawden, and Clement Petrillo, graduating June 1963. His first competition was when he was just nine years of age, competing with 40 other kids for a chance to appear in the Philadelphia Orchestra's Children's Concerts. Watts won the competition playing a piano concerto by Joseph Haydn. This was the first time Andre tasted success, and he never looked back since.
