At age six, Ana Gabriel took the stage for the first time singing Josa Alfredo Jimanez's "Regalo A Dios." In 1977 she had her first opportunity to record her first song, "Comprendeme" when she moved to Tijuana to pursue her singing career and study accounting. After singing "No Me Lastimes Mas," she placed second at a local festival known as Valores Juveniles. In 1986, Ana Gabriel spoke for Mexico at OTI's Festival, having her breakthrough two years later after releasing Tierra De Nadie, which included her first smash, a song called "Simplemente Amigos."
