Albany Information: Tickets, Venues, Events and More

The state capital of New York State, Albany is a town of 94,000 people located near the border of New York and Massachusetts. The city has plenty of tourist attractions, art exhibits, sports, and even a night life.

Tourists stopping in Albany can visit the Palace Theatre and the Egg, two venues for music and theater. The largest venue is the Pepsi Arena. The Pepsi Arena is largest music venue, trade show forum, sporting event stadium, and is perfect for every other major event that requires enough room to accommodate tens of thousands of people.

Albany has its share of festivals as well. The Tulip Festival celebrates the tulips bloom in Washington Park and the city’s Dutch heritage. Alice at Five is a free summer concert series that lets residents listen to music every Thursday. The list of festivals goes on and on for Albany, as almost any taste can find an event to bring them to town.

The city has a young demographic to go along with the industrial and political crowd thanks to schools like the University at Albany, Sage College of Albany, Albany College of Medicine, and Maria College of Albany.

The sports scene might surprise a few people. Though Albany does not have a team in any of the major four leagues, there are still clubs for hockey fans (the River Rats), football fans (the Arena League Firebirds), basketball fans (Patroons), and baseball fans (the Tri-City Valley Cats).
