Albany is best known as the capital of New York State. It is much more though. Located 150 miles north of the state’s namesake, the city has cultivated a culture that appreciates the best of the arts, the most competitive sports teams, and music of every genre. Not only does the populace of the city and the larger Albany-Schenectady-Troy metropolitan area appreciate these events, but the city has constructed the venues to provide a place for Albany tickets of any sort to be accepted for an amazing live experience.
In terms of sports, the Time Union Center is home to the Sienna Saints of the MAAC and the Albany Devils of the AHL. For those in search of an evening out for the arts or live music there are several locations. Recently restored, the Palace Theatre Albany is publically owned and has been converted from a RKO movie palace into a phenomenal setting to enjoy the live arts. The Albany Symphony Orchestra resides here and the several touring theatrical productions will grace the stage. The Egg is not only an architectural oddity, but a building that houses many bands, theater troupes, and symphonies.
