Aguadilla Information: Tickets, Venues, Events and More

Luis de Cordova founded The city of Aguadilla in the year 1775. It is situated on the northwest tip of Puerto Rico. It is cuddled by the Atlantic Ocean in the north and west direction.

The city is spread over 15 wards and Aguadilla Pueblo forms the administrative center of the city. The city has the honor of receiving the “Best Quality Of Life Award” in the years 2002 and 2004. The National Mayor Association gave the award.

The City of Aguadilla was once a part of Aguada but later it was segregated in the year 1780 in order to form a separate entity.

According to Don Pedro Tomas de Cordova, the party of Aguadilla belonged to Aguada. At this particular span of time, the territorial organization of Aguadilla consisted of:

Pueblo Norte (North Town), Pueblo Sur (South Town), Ceiba Alta, Ceiba Baja, Montaña, Malezas, Aguacate, Dos Palmas, Camaseyes, Plainela, Borinquen, Arenales, Higüey, Corrales, Victoria and Mangual.

Tourism: Aguadilla is a part of "Porta del Sol". The Puerto Rico Tourism Company is responsible for publicizing the west coast of the city.

"Las Cascadas" which is a recently built water park, is responsible for enhancing the tourism aspect of the city. The Aguadilla Ice Skating Arena has also given its contribution in boosting the tourism aspect of the area.

Sports: The Aguadilla Divas form one of the famous teams of the city. They come under the Female Superior Volleyball League and are extremely popular for playing in Downtown Aguadilla. Luis T Diaz Coliseum is the official venue of the city. Aguadilla Sharks Baseball team is another immensely popular side that plays under the Superior Baseball league at the Luis A Canera Marquez arena.
