ADULT. is a folk band originated in Detroit, Michigan. This band that combines the vocals with drum machines, analog synthesizers mixed with electronic/punk elements. The name of the band usually includes the full-stop after it and spelled in capital letters. The band is also known as "Plasma Co." a pseudonym by which it began releasing its albums in 1998.
Earlier the members of the band ADULT. Were not recognized by people and left uncredited. But the release of the album "Anxiety Always" , ADULT. was recognized as husband-and-wife team Adam Lee Miller and modality artist Nicola Kuperus. These husband wife team also founded their own label Ersatz Audio record. At the time of launch of their tour to promote their single "D.U.M.E." EP, ADULT. Introduced public to their third member, guitarist Samuel Consiglio. They announced their trio at that occasion. But this grouping proved to be very short lived as Consiglio left the band in early 2006.

 ADULT. Band toured constantly performing in many concerts and Live shows. They performed in many shows to promote their singles and albums. The Duo started earning name and fame after releasing all the musical work independently. The constant touring in the US helped the band attaining the success, publicity and recognition. In addition to this, in their Live performances, ADULT. Performed remixes of other artists specially The Faint, Erase Errata, Felix da Housecat, Fischerspooner, and Bis. Vocalist Kuperus does all the album artwork and photography for the band. Kuperus has contributed vocals on the works of other electronic acts including "Death In Vegas", "Swayzak" and "Chicks On Speed". ADULT. also toured with Trans Am in 2002. The band made its first major and headlining tour in America in May 2003. This tour followed extended traveling across Europe.
The stimulating and exciting albums by ADULT. include "Resuscitation" in 2001, "Anxiety Always" in 2003 and "Gimmie Trouble" in 2005. The band has released many famous EPs such as "Controlled Edition" , "T & A" , "Split/Split/Split", "D.U.M.E.", "Numbers + ADULT. = This Seven Inch" 7". All of EPs have been issued on the format of 12 inch venyl.
Carrying on with constant touring, presently Miller and Kuperus have concentrated completely on their recording and touring. The band has diverted their mind from their own label for some time. This is the reason, the recent musical releases of ADULT. has been distributed by Thrill Jockey Records rather than Ersatz Audio. In addition to this, Kuperus has also been presenting her photography at museums across the U.S. and Europe.
